"Cette crêperie ne se trouve pas par hasard. Elle se cache au fond du petit centre commercial de la Verville à Mennecy. Avantage : vous avez un très grand parking à disposition. De l'extérieur, on ne peut pas imaginer qu'à l'intérieur, on trouve une grande salle bien décorée, très propre avec des tables espacées. Il y a aussi une belle terrasse face à un coin de verdure, et donc au calme (pas de bruit de voiture). Il y a un grand choix de galettes et crêpes. Ma galette était un peu trop cuite, comme celle de ma femme. Je dis bien "un peu", elle était bonne quand même. Par contre, la crêpe était très fine, très bonne et très bien cuite. Les serveuses étaient souriantes, efficaces et connaissaient bien leur carte , elles nous ont proposé un cidre bio qui n'était pas sur la carte. En tous cas, c'est la première crêperie dans laquelle 2 personnes (une serveuse et la patronne, je suppose), nous ont demandé si tout allait bien. C'est dire l'attention qui est portée aux clients. Nous reviendrons, c'est sûr, et je vous recommande d'y aller."

Le dîner était parfait du début à la fin des produits sont de très bonne qualité. La cave a vin et tout simplement exceptionnel. On ne peut pas passer à côté d'un restaurant aussi bon. Nous allons revenir très vite merci encore pour ce moment agréable que nous avons passé hier soir. Wheelchair accessibility: Tout est fait pour un accès facile en fauteuil roulant. "Two friends and I walked the twelve kilometers from the train station at Mennecy through a natural preserve incorporating artificial lakes created when sand and gravel quarries were abandoned and filled with water from the Essonne River. Le Chalet des Etangs is located on a narrow spit of land between two lakes. The interior of the restaurant is spacious enough to accommodate large groups and a shady outdoor dining area offers a pleasant environment during good weather. We each chose a two-course lunch—main course plus dessert--from the three items on the slateboard: boulettes de bœuf provençale, saucisse de Toulouse chaud and sot-l’y-laisse de dinde with pommes sautées. The first item is the southern France version of spaghetti and meatballs. Saucisse de Toulouse is a mild-flavored pork sausage served warm. As for sot-l’y-laisse de dinde, the English translation is Turkey Oysters, small, round pieces of dark meat on the back of the bird near the thigh. [See photograph. According to the Wikipedia, “Some regard the ‘oyster meat’ to be the most flavorful and tender part of the bird.” Translated into English, the French phrase means “fools leave it,” because inexperienced carvers often accidently left the pieces on the cutting board. The Turkey Oysters were delicious. For dessert, we had crème brulée sprinkled with crushed spekuloos, cinnamon flavored shortbread cookies, and panna cotta with strawberry coulis. I can’t guarantee that Turkey Oysters will always be on the menu at Le Chalet des Etangs, but I am confident that what will be on the bill of fare will be delicious. Service was prompt and courteous. With one bottle of Cotes du Rhone and one of San Pellegrino sparkling water, the check came to $75.00 for the three of us. It is about a thirty-minute walk from the restaurant to the train station of Ballancourt."
