"We tried this a couple of times. One as a small group of 3 (two adults and a child) and one as a larger group. First night was a busy Sunday dinner service so the service was a bit slow but it was busy so you can account for that. The food was fantastic the Sea Bass and the special of Oatmeal crusted herring were faultless and we fed this back to the group and arranged a follow up meal later in the week. The second visit was memorable for different reasons. We were shown to our table and looked over the options on the menu. Two of the party ordered the duck, one serving wasn't edible as the fat was still raw and chewy with the orange sauce being warmed up marmalade and not appetising to look at. This was returned to the kitchen but no offer of a replacement and this was still charged onto the bill. The fish curry was tasty and good portion size but the poppadoms and rice were stale. Overall I don't want to be too harsh here as we did have a very enjoyable meal on one occasion. Staff were friendly enough but understandably busy. It's worth a try but maybe stick to the fish and other specials."

Staying in Gairloch as part of our car club weekend away, we were treated to an excellent breakfast on both mornings. A good choice with excellent friendly service in a lovely setting. I can heartily recommend the Myrtle Bank and will definitely call in again.

Lovely spot. Have been before and enjoyed it then. However, the food this time was terrible. We went early evening and served with warmed up food. Partner had mac'n'cheese. I had lamb. How long does it take to cook macaroni from scratch? lamb was pretty tasteless.

We visited here on 3 separate occasions during on long holiday in Wester Ross, first for coffee, then breakfast and finally for tea cake. On all 3 visits, the service was super and very friendly. The breakfast and cake were delicious. The location is superb, overlooking the bay. Also dog friendly, added bonus.

This remians one of our favourite places in Gairloch and we have been here regularly for dinner over the past two weeks. The hotel has wonderful views out over the water with Skye in the distance. The evening menu is good and all meals we have had (fish, scampi, soup, vegetarian) have been well prepared and presented. Staff are really friendly they all do a wonderful job.

The hotel is pricey at £200 for a loch view double room. You are really paying for the location on the NC500 and the lochside. The hotel itself clearly has had some investment e.g. lovely deck furniture outside, but there is a way to go in updating the overall feel of the place and the furniture/carpet in the rooms. That said, it was spotlessly clean, pleasant staff and good home cooked food in the restaurant at dinner.

This hotel is one where I can imagine people returning year after year and accepts coach parties which ensured that the restaurant was doing good business on a Tuesday evening. The staff were friendly and efficient, the service was good and the food, whilst not outstanding, was tasty and generous. My husband’s main course of langoustines almost out-faced him with the 8 plump shellfish, whilst my sea bass, though not as daunting in quantity, was well cooked and nicely presented.

Warm welcome, great selection of drinks and food and a beautiful view of the sunset. Highly recommend a visit if in Gairloch and you manage to get a table then eat, or if in bar then snacks are available. If doing the NC 500 then get out of your vans and spend some money on local places. We did and very happy to do so when you come across places like this. Support the locals. If ever in this area again would certainly visit. Local fresh food and vegan gf options also. Gin was rather lovely too!!
