"I visited here very recently, we sat upstairs in the restaurant part. We were given some complimentary prawn and thai crackers whilst waiting for our food. We ordered Thai fish cakes and scallops, the names are different on the menu, it took about 22 mins for the starters to arrive but were well worth the wait, well presented and very very tasty. The Mains were quicker, we had the Thai burger, which was a bit spicy with bacon and cheese, also we had the crying Tiger which was sirloin steak cooked and cut on a bed of hot and sizzling vegetables and very tasty, and also we had the drunken noodles with prawn all very delicous. The atmosphere differs here from other restaurants as it is at the top of a pub but the food is definitely worth the visit."

Delivery over an hour late. If you don’t have the staff to deliver don’t take orders. The crispy duck was horrible dry and struggled to swallow it so over cooked. The crackers tasted odd as well very fishy. My husbands meal was meant to be duck but he got beef. Won’t bother again lots of other better restaurants.

Ordered for delivery. waited 1 hour ten minutes. Called the restaurant, apparently food is on its way. Half hour later still no food. Called the restaurant and was hung up on twice. 2 hours after ordering and the food arrived. The delivery driver called the manager and we were refused a refund, so we refused the food and put a complaint in to just eat.

What a disappointment! After reading the reviews I was expecting the food to be good. Sadly it was disgusting. There was no difference between the red curry or the Penang sauces (which tasted packet rubbish). The starters were what you buy in your Supermarket and stick in the oven. £60+ when I could've spent £10-12 Supermarket thai takeout for 2. I love Thai food but this wasn't it!!!

I ordered through Just Eat and the delivery estimate was 45 minutes. 2 hours later and the food eventually arrived. Apparently traffic was bad! I live less than 1 mile from the restaurant and it was 10:30 at night. Don’t order any fried items as they arrive soggy you have to put them in the oven when they arrive. Eating in the “restaurant” is a bad idea... it’s a dodgy pub complete with sticky carpet and pissed up locals. Avoid!

I went here to try the food as a treat for my wife, and arrived on a Friday afternoon. We were shown upstairs to a table in what was just an upstairs to the pub and not enclosed. There were a few people in the pub having there Friday drink with some colourful language spoken from the people downstairs which the waiter apologised for. The food itself was very good we ordered starters and mains, the portion sizes were very generous, hot and tasty and took a while to cook but worth the wait. If the environment was better I would have given more stars. It is a shame they they do not partition off the restaurant part away from the pub, as it would make for a better atmosphere.

The food was simply fabulous and plentiful. Duck pancakes and squid were our firm favourites. We also ate fish, Thai green curry, lamb shanks and Singapore noodles. It was my daughters birthday. Thai is our family favourite. We were visiting the nearby aqua dome, Hollywood bowl and Ifly. This was near. It did not disappoint despite being a bit grotty and totally empty on a Saturday lunch time. The carpets have seen better days and the smell of the pub reminded me of my student days! Cute mezzanines to sit in meant we could have an area to ourselves, open presents and bring my own cake. The staff were helpful throughout our visit. They also kindly packed up our left overs, which we enjoyed fo...

"Our first visit. We cannot praise thank The Wellie highly enough. What a find! Peacefully rural on a quiet road to the south of Baughurst. A classic, pretty country pub, now converted to an excellent restaurant, with three rooms. What strikes you first is how immaculate The Wellie is, inside and out. The large garden is a delight. Masses of dahlias and all manner of bushes and plants. Birds, birds and more birds. Do check out the vegetable garden beyond the rear car park. You then walk inside to the warmest of relaxed welcomes from the owners, Simon and Jason, and manager, Sheila, and their lovely young helpers. Nothing is too much trouble. The first thing you’ll spot is the array of fruit, veg salad for sale by the pub bar – the Wellie Deli. Along with home made jams, chutneys, quiches, etc. I then spotted the two hand pumps! Longdog Golden Poacher Basingstoke Pride. The seating inside is for diners every session is a sell out! But I was very happy to sup several excellent pints of well kept draught Basingstoke Pride in the garden – until I discovered their Negronis! Truly the best this side of Kwant (Piccadilly). We’d opted for the room in the pub: the Apartment. Two rooms on the first floor, knocked through. Enormous comfy bed, large rainfall shower, sofa, mini bar – two TVs! Free milk homemade shortbread. One of the discoveries we made here is the fabulous tea they serve from Prince Sons. As you can tell by now, we were very happy with our first stay at The Wellie… and then we went down for dinner! A truly exceptional menu from Jason’s kitchen, which changes each evening. Highlights were the scallops wrapped in pancetta, the pollack, the lamb pot pie, the twice baked cheese souffle, the NY cheesecake, the rhubarb ice cream, the treacle tart... All so fresh, tasty, and mainly from their garden. What we loved most was it was relaxed but fine dining without the tiny portions. The Full English breakfast the next morning was equally tasty. All in all, we did not want to go home! Thank you Simon, Jason Sheila. We will be back, soon."
