"Something you don 't get at home.....The latest foodie sensation to hit Alnmouth last year was this street food cafe. It is a tiny seafood 'shack ' style cafe and take-away. It is run by the people from Beaches Restaurant next door so you know that the ingredients are the freshest. It is very casual. The food comes in a cardboard box with wooden forks. Note that this is not the same place as Beaches (which has tablecloths and candles) and it is only open a few daytimes a week in summer, so check the Website. You can sit inside or on the pavement tables or get a takeway to go down the beach.The menu changes daily but you could get crab sandwiches, crab bisque or even a homemade burger. Top quality soft drinks or BYO alcohol (try the Alnmouth Grocer across the road).We ordered Lobster Thermidor and took a chilled bottle of Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc. A splendid way to spend a Sunday afternoon!"

Absolutely amazing fish and chips. The fish is cooked to order instead of being deep fried in batter. The wait is around 10 minutes as everything is made fresh. Wonderful experience.

I've not visited for awhile so today while out walking to Alnmouth I called in for lunch. Absolutely amazing the lobster and fries are just delicious. Great friendly service and very reasonably priced.

This charming coastal town can be a bit challenging when it comes to finding parking, so be prepared! Despite what the restaurant website says, it seems to be closed more often than not. If it had been open, we would have ordered takeout and enjoyed our meal in the lovely garden at the corner of Marine Rd and Northumberland St, which offers stunning views of the sea.

We ordered takeout from this restaurant twice while staying in Alnmouth for a week, and both times the food was really delicious. During our visits, we tried the Lobster and Fries, Crabcakes with sweet potato fries, and the Smoked Haddock Mac and Cheese, which was the best Mac and Cheese I've ever had. The food was prepared quickly, and packaged well for us to take back to enjoy. We will definitely be returning.

After sampling the amazing crab cakes earlier in the week (highly recommended) we had lobster and skin on fries and some smoked haddock mac and cheese to takeaway tonight. Ordered, had a wander up Alnmouth high street and ten mins later, it was all bagged up (all in eco friendly boxes/bags and with eco friendly disposable cutlery) and ready to to take home. It was all absolutely delicious. The ice cream is also great we’ve had some most nights during our week long stay! And the owners are incredibly friendly. Absolutely worth a visit.
