I tried the 7-course tasting menu at this restaurant and every dish was outstanding. The staff was knowledgeable and the atmosphere was great. I would highly recommend it for special occasions, even though it's on the expensive side. The high quality of the food and service justify the price.

Went to Number one in Edinburgh's Princess Street Balmoral Hotel on Saturday evening and once again had the best meal ever started with the goats cheese yummy then had Salmon for main and banana souffle to follow excellent. the little titbits in between were excellent too as was the bread. Not the cheapest but certainly the best! View menu

We dined at Number One at the Balmoral Hotel when we stayed at the Hotel after christmas and our experience was what you might expect of an award winning restaurant. service and food both impressive, everything artistically presented and the atmosphere warm and inviting. It is, of course, expensive, so it has to be a rare treat, but we would certainly go again
