"We picked this restaurant based on reviews on Trip Advisor. It is in a small town about 2 miles from the Parador San Estevo where we were staying. The Parador food excellent but we wanted to try a local place. We were very impressed by the quality of food, service and value for money. The building is on the central square where there are a number of other restaurants and cafes. From the road it does not stand out but through the bar is a nice patio area with outside tables and a very attractive old traditional building with more tables. The Menu del dia was 12 Euros for 3 courses including bread and drink and it was possible to have a coffee instead of sweet, not always the case. There were at least 6 choices for each course with some items not usually found on set price menus. My starter choice was grilled sepia (cuttlefish) with potatoes and aioli. This was excellent, very fresh sepia so tender, beautifully cooked. We also very much enjoyed a main course of sea bass with green beans and beansprouts cooked in a soy based sauce. A portion was a whole fish which again was very fresh and cooked just right. Another main was a flattened breaded chicken breast stuffed with ham and cheese. This was served with good skin on potato chunks. We could not manage sweets, not that the meal portions were huge rather that we are light eaters. So it was coffee which was good. The sweets we saw being served looked good. We had a white wine which we enjoyed, again it was a good wine for a Menu. The good service and friendliness of the staff added to our very favourable experience."

I’ve eaten in all of the restaurants in Luintra and this is easily the best one. Very Generous portions!, creative local dishes and a fabulous experience overall. Eat inside in the modern surroundings which pays homage to the rustic flavour of the region. Extremely well priced with a great selection of regional wines. Whether visiting for lunch or dinner or just sitting on the terrace for wine and tapas, this is an experience you don’t want to miss. Special mention to Roberto and Jessica for the simpatico welcome and top service. The rest of the staff are equally attentive and welcoming. If you are visiting the area, this Galician restaurant is NOT one to miss.

We asked our hotel for a recommendation of the best restaurant in the area, and she suggested O Campanario. A complete surprise. As you enter, it looks like the typical restaurant. But then in the back, it’s a beautiful space, of several rooms. Javier was our server. What a great guy, he guided us to order the right amount of dishes, as well the best combination of classics, and menu of the season. And even more important, he guided us to order correctly, more than enough to eat. I can’t recommend enough, such a special place, and Javier, such a nice guy! And on top of it all, the food is amazing at an excellent value. There’s real talent in the kitchen, creative, but not overly experimental... View menu
