"Arrived about am, I was greeted and seated straight away, I ordered an All Day Breakfast and coffee, The coffee arrived very quickly. Then the meal arrived also very quickly the waitress just plonked the plate down in front of me. The two fried...eggs were very over cooked the yolks being pale and hard. The bacon was hardly cooked at all and in a curly mess near the edge of the plate. (Not laid out as rashers should be) The toast was hardly toasted at all and with just a tiny bit of butter in the middle. The tomato was good and the sausages were good but that's it. The service was very abrupt, the area where I was seated was cold and the food was very poor. I have used OK Diner's quite few times in the past and the one at Elwick about or times and enjoyed good service and good food so this was a big let down. I noticed that there was only one other table occupied whereas when iv'e been there before about the same time of day they have been busy. I think next time I will try somewhere else."

Family dinner at OK was awesome... had the amazing wings, and all the way burger followed by the nut job.... was in a food coma afterwards! Really good produce (not cheaply sourced) cooked well and served by really nice staff. Thanks!!! Will be back soon

image and input service is amazing! when we set ourselves, we quickly ordered drinks when we ordered drinks. after that, the time passed and eating took his time when it arrived eating was not even hot: it was close to being cold, was not very appealing...ent only so good: teessacks in the tee!

My wife and I stopped in at the Stanford Diner after a shopping trip. We were greeted warmly and served coffee while we looked over the menu. We decided to order the spicy wings and ribs with BBQ sauce, coleslaw, and curly fries. Our order and coffee were promptly refilled (unlimited). Our meal was delicious and hot, and one of the best we've had.

We had a great birthday dinner for my friend at this restaurant. We had to wait a bit because it was busy, but the food was worth it. Our group was diverse, with people of different ethnic backgrounds and English speakers, and we felt welcomed and not discriminated against. The server was attentive and the food was delicious, definitely worth coming back for more.

Short visit for pancakes and coffee. Both were very nice. To class this as a traditional American diner however is a joke. Taking the decor aside the joy of a real US diner are the friendly staff. Don’t call me mate repeatedly and when I...leave thank me for calling in rather than blankly watching me go. There were only two other tables occupied. Needless to say I won’t be returning.

My father and I of a different ethnic background arrived at the restaurant and were initially greeted by an unwelcoming woman at the door. She seemed disinterested as we took a moment to decide if we wanted to dine there. My father went to the restroom, unaware that it was for patrons only. Despite this misunderstanding, they made us feel very welcome once we were seated, which was a pleasant surprise after the initial cold reception.

Came here tonight on a bit of a whim didn’t fancy cooking and wanted something a little bit more than a plain old burger. I had the philly steak burger (beef brisket on a burger with cheese sauce) this comes with fries and...some burger relish. My boyfriend had an “all the way” burger...it’s got EVERYTHING on it. Looked really tasty. Then there were the milkshakes...I had the peanut butter cup (bloomin’ delicious) and he had a Nutella milkshake (also pretty darn yummy Atmosphere was really nice great furniture, accessories and ambience. Staff were all really friendly and helpful and to top it all off...burgers are only on a Wednesday!! BARGAIN! Definitely be going again!

"The Stag Inn is a delightful looking pub overlooking the small green in the village of Barkston near Grantham. Internally the pub is clean and tidy with a range of two and four seater tables with New England shades of light blue on the painted table legs in the restaurant area. We didn’t venture into the pub side so can’t vouch for the decor in there. We arrived unannounced just after opening time of 12 and were offered a table with no difficulty. There was a menu of the usual offerings of fish and chips and a range of burgers together with roast salmon, chargrilled pork chop, a leek and cauliflower cheese pot pie, ham egg and chips and a vegetable lasagne amongst others. A specials chalkboard hung on the far wall and the crab and prawn salad with Mediterranean bread sounded so good we both opted for it. That was a mistake as we were to find out. The meals were reasonably quick to arrive and were served up in two large bowls with a dusting of paprika round the edges. What hit me immediately was the large flaccid green lettuce leaf draped over the edge of the bowl, together with a whole half-a-lemon that we each had. A small wedge would be perfect. The bread tasted sweet and was as far from the Mediterranean as it could possibly be apart from the occasional input of sundried tomato. What irked me most though was that the bread was delivered up pre-buttered with what looked like some bright yellow catering spread. A small ramakin of real butter between the two of us would work so much better. When asked if everything was okay I mentioned this and was told that chef would be informed. Having said all that the crab and prawn salad was full of flavour and sat on a nice mixed salad of red peppers, lettuce, red onion and cornichons. A word of advice to the wise….. don’t sit at the table near the restaurant counter as this is where the pub’s phone is located. On at least two occasions the phone was left to ring unanswered by the staff, presumably as they were busy elsewhere (the pub was by no means full) and was right behind my head! The volume of the ringer was high and it would have been a more pleasant experience for us if, firstly, it was answered and, secondly, the volume was turned down. On the plus side the staff were polite and helpful but the food not so great."
