Had dinner at the George. Very good meals and excellent table service. Beef Wellington was sensational, highly recommend. Book in advance for Friday Saturday as can get very busy. We went out for dinner on a Saturday night with high hopes due to the good atmosphere. The steak was cooked well, but unfortunately, the curry and soup were disappointing. The lamb curry was tasty, but the daal and saag aloo were bland and unseasoned. The flatbread was just a tortilla wrap. Very long wait for food. The staff were pleasant enough but we waited an hour and half for our food with young children. Lovely outside seating area and small play area for kids. When the food arrived it was delicious. Could do with some allergy friendly/more vegan options as the children with allergies in our party were incredibly limited in choice. A group of us went to a restaurant where we had pre-ordered our meals. The food was delicious and everyone at the table seemed to enjoy their dishes. The service was efficient, and all our meals arrived at the same time. Although the restaurant was busy, we still had a relaxed and enjoyable evening. The restaurant is also very dog-friendly. The average price per person ranged from £10-£20. Overall, I would give the food a rating of 4, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 4. I would recommend trying the Fish and Chips and the Chicken Burger with Salad. View menu
