"I had lunch with a friend at this pub. It is a beautiful pub. I had phoned earlier to check their ability to provide gluten-free food and they said that as everything was cooked from fresh they could adapt anything on the menu. We had a very pleasant glass of white wine whilst waiting an hour for our meal. As the meal we had ordered was the cold fish platter. We were quite surprised at this rather long delay. Unfortunately, although the platter is served with bread, they had no gluten-free alternatives. I suggested chips, but these are cooked in the same fat as breaded food (this is a rather bizarre and old-fashioned way of cooking chips since it simply means the chips taste of whatever you've cooked with them! . Of course it's meant that the chips would be contaminated with gluten. So in the end I had a bag of crisps. This was a bad mistake since the crisps were naturally salty. The fish dish was so salty that it was almost inedible. One piece of fish I put into my mouth and my body just spat it out! It was an expensive platter at just under £25 for quite a small amount of fish. The staff were very friendly but slow."

SO disappointed....we love this pub! Menu quite uninspiring...satay sauce replaced by green thai sauce that tasted of nothing! Noise from kitchen radio and staff very loud. Burger buns rock solid, and burger very plain.

Three of the menu choices were off. The Thai crab starter was far too salty. Despite being quiet, the food was not collected by the waiting staff when the kitchen said it was ready, mustard was left in the kitchen and not brought to the table until prompted. An expensive but disappointing experience.

Fantastic Sunday roast with friends at this gorgeous country pub. Bex was our host and she was fantastic as always! Customer service from all the staff was wonderful. Food was high quality and would definitely recommend the roast beef and salted caramel cheesecake. We will definitely be back and highly recommend. Thank you White Hart team.

Really lovely staff nice atmosphere. However the food was completely different from when I did a trip advisor review back in Oct 2020. We know the place has changed ownership. Very large main courses which might mean diners cannot manage a dessert overpriced in our opinion, which is poor business practice. Unusual brown egg starter was very nice as was the arancini. The special which was a steak pie was also good, however, the risotto, the only available vegetarian main course, was a disappointment. Bex the efficient enthusiastic restaurant manager did discuss the that the new menu will cater for vegetarian vegans more thoroughly, which we appreciated. We hope that she stays as she is a grea...
