Lovely and friendly, always helpful good food, quiet area, tucked out of the way small and quaint village pub

Went here for Mother’s Day recommendation from a friend, what a gorgeous meal, all fresh and good cuts of meat, definitely be back

Its several years since I've visited The Royal Oak, a meet with an old friend, still a good pub as I remember it. Must visit again soon, good atmosphere.

Served by the Italian chef (friendly enough but in a grubby chefs smock) place scruffy and none too clean. The menu battered and crumpled. Food passable. How this place is in the Good Pub Guide I cannot imagine

We visited on Friday for a long overdue catch-up and were not disappointed. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Our food was cooked perfectly, and the steaks were exceptional. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable. We can't wait to come back again. View menu

We had Sunday lunch at this restaurant. We had roast pork with crackling, mashed and roast potatoes, and seven other vegetables. The meal was very tasty and affordable. The owner was very kind and tried her best to accommodate gluten-free options. This is a good, straightforward pub with delicious pub food.

We absolutely loved our experience here, especially the delicious Sunday roast. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and were so friendly and accommodating. Our daughter adored the adorable dog, Dog Star, and we can't wait to come back again soon. We highly recommend this place to anyone in the area or passing through. We will definitely be returning regularly.

We broke down on the by pass and landed here waiting for recovery. It was Sunday and they had a carvery on. No other food, so my wife lost out, she doesn 't eat Sunday roast. Staff and customers were friendly enough especially as I was a stranger, they don 't come stranger than me. so it was a lovely pub and the carvery was reasonable and very good. the ONLY thing that let them down, was when a 'customer ' might have been staff) jumped down from his stool at the end of the bar and went to serve a carvery meal. Notice I missed the bit where he washed his hands before handling food, because he didn 't wash his hands. i am a food safety trainer so spot little bits that others might miss) So nob... View menu
