"The OPUS V restaurant is established as the best fine dining address in Mannheim. Therefore, it was a must for me, after a memorable first visit shortly after the opening in late to come again with a business friend to this place of gourmet...cuisine. The welcome at the reception was courteous and the attentive and likeable service team was very eager to fulfill all our culinary wishes, in relaxed stylish and well-being atmosphere over the roofs of Mannheim. As Aperitif was a cool and well-mixed Negroni the ideal cocktail to sensibilise the taste buds for the forthcoming flavor experience. We decided to enjoy the eight-course menu together with recommended wine pairing. The nice decorated and savory amuse bouche surprises have been a wonderful taste experience and whet our appetite for more. All served courses were of excellent quality, extremely savory with filigree Asian unami notes. The used ingredients harmonized in a perfect manner and caused an explosion of flavors with best mouthfeel. Among other have been the culinary highlight the Hamchi Japanese amberjack with cabbage turnip, shiso, the Langoustine with caviar, capuchins, the Halibut with parsley root, soja, the Veal with, bulbus plants, mustard, the Brie cheese with truffle, bread. The Butter milk with blood orange, coffee together with the cheese selection of Affineur Waltmann rounded off this fantastic delicacy firework and unfortunately, I had no more space for other sweet desserts. At the first glance, the offered wine pairing selection seemed a bit unusual, but the served elegant vintages correspond in a superb way with the various tasty dishes. The wines were presented by a young sommelier with profound knowledge in an excellent manner and additionally provided with a lot of interesting background information. Particularly preeminent were the finely beaded Cava Brut Nature (Bruant Alta Altella), the Chenin Blanc (Domaine Huet), the Chardonnay Te Ahu (Terravin), the Volnay Cru (Domaine Albert Bichot) and the Bukkaram Sole D’Agosto (Marco de Bartoli). After this opulent meal, an espresso doppio accompanied by an unbelievable velvety, cask aged years old Nonino Grappa was a perfect completion of a memorable meal. To visit OPUS V is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a first-class dinner, extraordinary composed by Chef Tristan Brandt with his kitchen brigade and skillful presented by the inspired service team."

Else Else

I will go to opus w since it opens. Unfortunately, my last visit was a great disappointment: almost no familiar faces under the service staff, a certain tendency to upselling, and too many underwhelming courts do not guarantee a bill. two people. the wine list has improved.

this restaurant is simply amazing. we chose the selection menu of the cook and we loved each plate. they are big enough to enjoy the food, but small enough to finish all the courses. the employees speak English what is good if they can not speak German yet...and they are friendly and helpful. I recommend opus w.

Located on the top floor of a premium shopping centre in the Center of Mannheim. The atmosphere is wonderful and the service is more than excellent, but most importantly are the dishes, which were perfect combination of taste and appearance, so you will surely fulfil...both your eyes and stomach Highly recommended.

Excellent food in a nice, calm atmosphere. We ordered course menu as the waiter mentioned that we will get pre-starters, amuse-bouche beforehand. The mix and taste of the ingredients was brillant. They had some comté cheese with a moustard based ice cream,...delicious. Each time the waiter explained the ingredients for each dish. A true culinary experience

I’ve been to six different Star Restaurants in Germany, Opus V is definitely worthy of Stars! Out of this world food: modern, often with Japanese influences, amazing quality. Great service as well. Very cool place. So far Christian Bau was my favorite restaurant...in Germany, but I found my new number one. Thanks to the whole team for the amazing experience.

This is what you expect in a restaurant. We ordered courses which were augmented by pre-dinner snacks and after-dinner truffles. Also ordered wine pairings which were nice selections from beyond Germany in most cases. We very much appreciated the English spoken during service,...which was excellent. Food preparation was near perfect, the dishes were well conceived, and as other reviewers mention, included some asian elements. The pace of the meal was pleasant, neither hurried nor slow. The ambiance of the restaurant was sophisticated without being stuffy. This is a restaurant I would go back to without hesitation, highly recommend.

We, two persons, went to Opus V on a Saturday evening and had reserved in advance. Opus V is located on the upper floors of the Engelhorn store in Mannheim. The entire is very elegant, modern and plain. We very much liked the setting. Service...was on an incredible high level, very courteous and attentive, swift, just perfect. The menu looked so good, we went for the complete menu with wine pairing. The house sommelier did an incredible job in explaining why wines were paired and did a great job at selecting fitting wines for the menu. The entire menu was thoughout delicious and a fantastic experience. We were blown away and treasure this incredible experience. We highly recommend Opus V and...

conveniently located in the center of mannheim, this place leads them to another world. the interieur is really nice, the service is excellent. something confusing is the concept of menu and curs', which does not follow traditional art. the personal is the most. ready to arrange the ideas behind it, and it's a good idea. but expect to spend a minimum of hours. in our case, with all-in, it was quite hours. Therefore they do not expect a main course to be set up. their concept is more a large number of smaller successive dishes. While we loved it, I wonder if this is preferred by all customers? there is a great love to decorate the smallest detail in all. everything is most fresh and originall...

"After a very long time we had to go to Sushi again. We still knew Kaoru, but in the old premises in Q, hidden behind a passage. For a few years the restaurant has been sitting on Goethestraße and has increased. Saturday afternoon, still reserved online. The form asks where to sit. Selected Sushibar. At last, we are here. Be welcomed and I mention the reservation. She points to the bar, but at the same time says that we can sit where we want. There was enough space everywhere. Probably she was watching our asking looks when we saw the sushibar. After all, we still had the bar with waterway in front of us....This was always the attraction of the Kaoru that the ships were on one way over and could be operated. There was also a bit of overash effect. We had experienced it before. All right, so we sat at the bar. With the back to the street and in front of us the chefs prepared eager sushi. The ingredients are behind curved glass. The cooks served, depending on what they needed. Something interesting. We got the menus. Sushi in several variants are available. Dessert. Beer. We took all warm Sake and Asahi beer. I tried the Rainbow Roll, 8 reels with tuna, salmon, cancer, white fish. The Maki Set and the Beginner Set were ordered. Price between 10 and 18.50 Euro. When ordering, I asked if there is no more waterway. Unfortunately no, she said, and regretted it very much. After the reasons, we didn't ask them. The drinks came to the place. The Sake was very warm. The sushi came very soon after, at the same time for everyone. It looked appetizing and actually like the picture on the map. It tasted good too, all right. The payment was then somewhat lengthy, because none of the services were to be seen or it appeared only briefly between the tables. It's been a little. A family came in when we left. The first question of the great son to serve: have you changed? He also missed the waterway...."
