"I recently stayed at Owston Hall Hotel for one night during the week. The hotel is situated in beautiful, picturesque surroundings with a golf course. There is ample free parking available, as well as a bar and a restaurant on site. I stayed in a Heritage Room which was incredibly spacious and impeccably clean. The room featured a comfortable king-sized bed, a fantastic bathroom, and speedy WiFi. I dined in the restaurant that evening and was thoroughly impressed with both the quality of the food and the level of service provided. Breakfast the following morning was also delicious. I must give special recognition to Julia at the reception desk, who was incredibly accommodating and compassionate when I wasn't feeling well. In my opinion, this hotel offers exceptional value for the price and I will definitely be returning in the future. I highly recommend a stay at Owston Hall Hotel."

This is our second visit. First one was Sunday lunch on Mother’s Day. Tonight we had an early dinner. It was soooo nice. We visited a few years ago and it was average but it is under new management and it has really upped its game !! We loved it staff attentive efficient. Food delightful. Will certainly be returning. My current favourite xx

Very good food, certainly the best I’ve had in the area…….they obviously have an excellent chef/s. All let down a bit however by the service in the restaurant . Only x2 staff on a Saturday evening, one who was just too inexperienced (not his fault obviously! , the other on the verge of being quite rude! Only scores 4 because of the great food!

Beautiful hotel with charming rooms. The staff at reception were very hospitable and kept the room clean during my 2-night stay. My only critique is that on the first night, we arrived late and the bar staff still managed to prepare a tea for my friend, but on the second night, when we asked for tea earlier, we were told that all machines were turned off. I would give 5 stars to the person working in the bar on Tuesday evening.

We decided to stop by Owston Hall for afternoon tea and were completely charmed by the experience. The picturesque location, elegant setting, delicious food, and exceptional service exceeded our expectations. We took advantage of their special offer of £15 for afternoon tea, available for the next four weeks. It is truly a fantastic deal, and we highly recommend visiting Owston Hall for a special occasion. It was a magical experience that we will not soon forget.

"The welcome we received was pleasant, although not very personal, and our details were not checked, which was surprising considering how difficult it was to secure a reservation. The restaurant is not licensed, so guests are welcome to bring their own drinks. My husband and I brought two bottles of champagne, but we were not offered an ice bucket and were given standard wine glasses instead of flutes. The food was served promptly, starting with an amuse bouche of butternut squash veloute with a creamy accompaniment served in egg boxes. The chef explained the dish himself, and it was delicious. The second course, an aged rice dish reminiscent of a soupy risotto flavored with parmesan and espresso, was my least favorite. I found it poorly presented and the coffee flavor didn't come through well. The third course, a beautifully cooked lamb cutlet finished on a barbecue outside, was accompanied by flavorful lentils. However, the broccoli that came with it was plain and could have used some additional flavor. The dish was not explained to us. The fourth dish, which I initially thought was eel, turned out to be smoked eel and was served with beetroot. This was one of my favorite dishes of the night. We were served two desserts: a warm chocolate foam with orange sorbet and a deconstructed rhubarb custard with pink meringue pieces, both of which were delicious. The bill was not presented to us, so we followed the lead of other guests who left cash on the table as they left. My husband had a nice chat with the chef, and I joined in after a visit to the restroom. The chef was very knowledgeable and skilled with flavors. Overall, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of personality in presenting and explaining each dish. The experience felt somewhat impersonal and lacked interest. I believe guest interaction is crucial, so my tip would be for the restaurant to take the time to engage with guests, even if it means spending less time in the kitchen. I did not give a perfect score due to the presentation and slightly underwhelming flavors in some dishes. I believe that in fine dining, every element of the dish should be bursting with flavor. Despite this, we had an enjoyable evening and would return if we are able to secure a reservation."
