"Booked a table for two for our 36th wedding anniversary. Chose Pacifica because open table website showed extensive choice of menu. We were disappointed on arrival to find that the internet menu was very different from Pacifica menu which was quite limited. The food was very good but the whole experience was let down by the standard of service which was ok but staff were not very knowledgeable or perhaps the communication between diners and waiter seemed difficult. The main fault was the lack of knowledge of drinks. We asked for an aperitif of classic dry martini before our meal but the Maitre D' seemed not to know what constituted a dry martini and seemed aghast when we asked for the drinks to include a green olive. When we enquired about cocktails he just gave us a blank expression and disappeared into the distance never to be seen again. The open table website gave us to believe that we would receive 5 star food and service. The fact was that we enjoyed the food but the overall experience could have been so much better."

Excellent food and service. The only downside was the noise from the private function upstairs.

This was our first visit to the Pacifica Cantonese and we were suitably impressed from the moment we entered the restaurant with the décor and friendly welcome. The selection from Dim Sum to main courses was wide and varied and nice variations on traditional dishes and meal was enhanced by a good wine list .The service by waitresses and waiters was excellent and efficient and contributed to a great evening . We will certainly return

On the way to, Barnsley decided to stop on the way for a Chinese buffet. This restaurant came up on Google Maps. So added to my trip. I'm so glad we did. As we turned up without booking. It was full there. however, they went out of their way and accommodated us to a table. The food was outstanding and tasty. Restaurant very clean. I recommend this restaurant to all those who enjoy Chinese cuisine. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Sunday Buffet, Sesame Prawn Toast Recommendation for vegetarians: Somewhat recommend Vegetarian offerings: Not sure

"Hearing about a traditional fish and chip shop in Prestwich, complete with a restaurant and bar, and cooking in beef-dripping with the option for vegetable oil (call to confirm vegetable oil availability), I was compelled to check it out. Upon entering the shop, I found myself in the bar area, with access to the restaurant located upstairs. The bar was furnished with tables, chairs, and stools for those wishing to enjoy a drink or avoid the stairs. It is encouraging to see young people engaged in the fish and chip shop trade, potentially leading to more traditional establishments in the future. The cod, although slightly smaller than expected, was delicious and cooked to perfection. The chips were among the best I’ve had in a long time. The pea fritters, black pudding fritters, and tartare sauce were also excellent. In-house pies were available as well, so I sampled the cheese and onion and meat and potato varieties and can recommend both. There is parking available across the street and on-street. However, the opening hours might not suit those looking for a lunchtime meal, as at the time of this review, the hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM, and closed on Sunday and Monday.
