eating is delicious and the service is very friendly. there are also many vegetarian meals. However, it is quite difficult to get a table, but it only shows how many people appreciate this restaurant.

Completely delicious food. Great atmosphere. Really friendly staff. We had a stunning evening. It was loud, people were chatty and the staff even introduced us to people with a similar background which was rather charming. Sums up Bamberg!

how to read in other opinions, eating at this place is fresh and excellent. it is also a very good choice if you want to rest a bit from the typical German food. just to say a negative thing, I remember that they. A bartender at a Bamberg pub recommended we check out the Pelikan for our one night in Bamberg. When we finally made it to this neighborhood gem long walk!, I was THRILLED to see the menu and LOVED my meal. so glad that we stumbled this beautiful hunt on our last night in the city. it felt like a local hangout from the beginning, with a lively atmosphere, friendly/knowing/welcoming wait staff. eating was amazing, and the portions were very large and quite full; a great. for her money. I couldn't finish mine. our table has asked a series of tap beers in the offer and can report that we all loved them. my only complaining: eating took one because to come, but it was worth waiting! the tables fill up quickly in the evenings, so reservations are more than advisable, although if they arrive before dinner eile, they can simply get lucky! This restaurant is located across the road from the Hotel Residenzschloss. We did not have a booking but they accommodated us at a high table which suited us fine. It's the kind of place you would walk past as it is quite dark and we...thought it was closed but when you go in you discover that the back area, I suppose you would call it a beer garden area, was open and trading. We had dinner there two nights out of the five we were in Bamberg and I would definitely go to eat there if I ever return to Bamberg. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient, the atmosphere was great and the food was fantastic. Put this on your list of places to eat in Bamberg!!

I was staying at the Welcome Hotel just over the road. Whilst the weather was horrible (snow, wind and very cold I didn't fancy walking far, so discovered this place just over the road. It was packed (and we subsequently found out that booking is...a pretty much essential practice here), but there were a couple of spaces at the bar, so we took our seats at the bar, sampled some great local beers and grabbed some food. The food was simply beautiful. Plenty of it, freshly cooked and delicious and very affordable too. I had a summer viggar roll, easily fritted with many sweets in the inner and tasty and perfect for a starter. then the very helpful server suggested half a part for my hornle with sweet and cocos milk sauce. it had a bowl of rice on the side, but kartoffel and rice seem to be a little too much carb for me. the horns are small bamberg kartoffeln and were very good.
