"Gave this simple outdoor/indoor pizza/hamburger resto a try on the recommedndation of frineds who live locally. It's actually a (permanent) kitchen flanked by three small marquee/gazebo structures, so it's seasonal (opens in June I think, closes around the end of September but check for dates and they do takeaway all year round. Service on a Saturday night was quick and friendly, with a mixture of French and English speaking diners. We all had burgers, which are really well made with creative and generous fillings including duck and vegetarian options. There's a wide range of pizzas, too, plus two or three local plats du jour such as magret de canard and tripes. Burgers came with good French style frites and a simple green salad. Quality of meat was excellent and even the buns merited a special mention soft but flavoursome, and dotted with different seeds and cereals. Wine is very fairly priced if you opt for it by the pichet (jug), and the short dessert menu is inexpensive, too. We came away after paying 58 euros for four burgers, three desserts and wine that's something of a bargain for an evening meal in today's France, particularly when for food offered of consistent quality and an ambiance that's relaxed, unfussy and pleasantly casual."

This is a simple outside cafe in the village. Popular as there are no other eateries nearby. The proprietor ensures this as he does not want completion. Until recently the pizzas have been very good. However, now the toppings have been reduced in quantity and the pizzas are not as good.

We regularly holiday in this area and tend to go to Le Rol at least once a week. The pizzas are fabulous, and the meat this year a choice of duck or steak is pretty good too. A lovely mix of locals, holiday makers, posh people, and normal people. The wine is good too and none of it is expensive.

Yes, it looks like you are sitting in a gazebo in someone's garden (and you are! but the food is very tasty, a wide variety of pizzas, and Christian and his staff work really hard to make sure you have a good evening. The wine (order a pichet, don't fuss about with bottles is from the local chateau and more than drinkable.

Two years since we visited this wonderful area of France. Dropped in for a pizza but the burgers sounded tempting. We had a lovely meal burgers excellent. Very friendly owner and staff,a real family restaurant. Very welcoming for children. OK, it's not top French dining but if you fancy good honest food well presented it's hard to beat.

We decided to try this place just for a takeaway as we were staying nearby. The pizzas were large and really delicious and cooked to order while you wait. If you are a pizza lover you will love this place. Neither of us could finish our pizzas as they were so big. Really good food and reasonably priced. There is a sit in restaurant on site too if you dont want to take away.

We had a fantastic meal at Le Rol. The food was lovely. Had steaks and the burgers and the quality was excellent. The wine was also very good. Please note that you need cash! No cards are accepted. The restaurant is based in the back yard which could be problematic if it rains but it was a great for our meal. The staff were really attentive and friendly. Looking forward to visiting again.

Don 't be put off by the 'temporary ' nature of the buildings they 're very much permanent and developing year on year. Christian and his team deliver reliable, tasty food at very reasonable prices. The steaks we had at our last visit were some of the best we 'd had in a long time my 'saignant ' (rare) was perfect and my friend 's 'bien cuit ' equally as good. The sauces were also really tasty. A third friend had one of the wide range of pizzas and throughly enjoyed it. A great place to 'pop out for supper ', whether you 're on holiday in the area, with friends, or just can 't be bothered to cook

Le Rol calls itself a Pizzeria but that undersells it. It does a lot more and really well too. The pizzas are great loads of choices of toppings from veggie to heavily laden with meats. The bases are thin and crispy and delicious. The burgers, again, great variety. There were 3/6 of us going for bacon burger which comes with a lot more than bacon. I chose the most amazing veggie burger I 've ever had in my life. The flavours were terrific and the textures varied from crunchy rosti, to luscious mushrooms plus creamy sauce. I adored it. The others chose normal but that means excellent too. They were all served with chips in a good old fashioned sense, they were a mortal sin! And though I neede...
