"If you want to spend a day on the beach along the famous Croisette and are willing to pay for a sunlonger with waiter service(30€) and want to have a relatively simple lunch, this place ticks all those boxes. The main courses on the a la carte menu are large so unless you choose the one set menu, which at 38€ for 3 courses with good choices is perfectly fine considering the quality & location, I would recommend going without a hors d'oeuvres. My wife had the lobster linguini(40€ but it included a whole lobster)and I had their highly recommended veal Milanese(30€ but was an enormous escalope). Both were very good. The service is friendly and efficient and the ambience is exactly as you would expect at a comfortable beachside restaurant, with decent sized tables & good quality tableware. My main gripe is even a bottle of the local wine cost at least 40€ which in France is greedy even bearing in mind the position. They should have a cheaper carafe choice. So when you come here you most certainly are not having a cheap day at the beach. But you are on the Croisette in Cannes and it's a very pleasant way of doing it. If you have the budget I would recommend it."

I know its Cannes and only very fe beach places are open at the beginning of March. However, Euro 27 for 2 espresso, 1 cappuccino and one tea is way over the top

Very nice experience. Very friendly and kind staff. It looks expensive but portions are huge and service is nearly perfect. You won't regret for a lunch.. Enjoy..

Super location right on the beach. Delicious food. Lobster cassoulette is perfection. Price is very fair. Service is friendly. Sitting on the beach in January is heavenly.

Had a great evening, just the right amount of time between courses, owner visiting with guests. The takeaway food was accidentally thrown out , but we were taken care of with a bottle of champagne!! We’ll be back! View menu

Lunch with 6. It has been some time since we had lunch at this beach restaurant. It used to be the best but this time we were a bit disappointed and what we had to pay for it. Some of our starters average ( lots of iceberg salade with a bit of smoked salmon and coalfish, mango and avocado). The froglegs delicious, the tartar de boeuf o.k. and the daurade grillé a bit dry.Maybe a suggestion to take better care of the toilets.

L’OndineA group of 6 of us spent the day in the beach club and had lunch at ~13:30 on a weekday. I was still easing into the awful GBP – Euro exchange rate on top of Cannes prices, but once I got through that we enjoyed the day. Lunch was superb and taking the above into account it was also good value taking the set menu option. Restaurant staff in particular were all super friendly and helpful. The seared tuna with crushed avocado was the hero for me. I’d go back for lunch if not the beach. Be aware of the cost of drinks though…

I remember it as the very first gay beach in the world; in those days being gay or bisexual was dangerous; discretion at all times though many queens of my acquaintance decided not to bother being discreet. The yellow colours were then as now. It's no longer exclusively gay and much more chic. I still enjoy it; both with my memories and for the good service and clean, bright colours; nice frogs legs and escargots; smoked salmon was not great (far better at Brun in the port); a Pimms; some white chilled Sancerre. It will always have a special place in my heart and it remains a nice place. View menu

if the weather is fine ,as it was this is one of the best beach restaurants in cannes.it helps that it is walking distance from the palais so lunch can easily be achieved within an hour or 75 mins depending on how busy your business schedule is.the staff know to get people in and out quick as they only have a short window when people will lunch. The service is brisk, the staff all speak Franglais and the food is great, fresh fish and meat, fine rose and white wines. My colleague had a steak and i had the fish with fresh vegetables and fine coffee.tables are close so you can hear everyone's conversation but it is a business lunch and it is a pleasant diversion from work.

Was in Cannes as part of a cruise around the Med & after spending a while looking for a place on the beach to have a few drinks, this was the only place who didn't require that we had a meal with the drinks seeing as it was during lunchtime hours (we had our lunch on the ship prior to arriving at Cannes). However, it soon became obvious as to why they weren't fussed about not having a meal as the drinks themselves cost a small fortune but it was a nice experience all round ended up using their deck chairs for a relaxing afternoon on the beach. Staff made no attempt to reply questions asked in English, so might be handy to know some French if you don't want to be given the wrong order.
