"This Establishment occupies a prominent position in the small Cotswold town of Winchcombe. On entering the premises the first thing that struck us was how dark it was inside, with very low lighting. The Bar has two sides to it and there was a bit of a wait for the Bartender to come around to our side and serve us. Having ordered drinks we found a place to sit, down a short flight of quite steep steps onto a lower level of the building, which was also dark and, dare I say it, dingy. We had to take care negotiating the steps due to the lack of lighting. What we had to refresh ourselves was acceptable both in quality and price. This is probably a pleasant enough place to pass the time and imbibe, if you don't mind being kept in the dark. There is public car parking available close by and major Credit Cards are accepted."

The restaurant should update their opening hours information as they do not open on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, not even for a drink.

The beer garden at this restaurant is absolutely fantastic. It is a secluded little area that is perfect for dogs on leashes, and it gets plenty of sunlight throughout the day. The food is also excellent. View menu

Lovely old pub, friendly welcome and great ales. The ales in this old pub you can tell are well looked after, clear as a bell and perfect temperature. Food looked amazing, was so tempting, maybe next time.

I had a wonderful time at this charming pub. The atmosphere was amazing and the landlady was incredibly friendly. I only stayed for one night, but the locals at the pub were also very welcoming. There was even live piano music playing. I will definitely be returning. Thank you for a great experience. View menu

Visited the Plaisterers Arms for a birthday dinner as we had heard the new chef was great and WOW! The food was absolutely fantastic. The menu is really inventive with so many great things to choose from and the quality of the food is exceptional. I can't recommend it highly enough its a real gem in a beautiful village. The general ambiance is cosy and the landlady is great. We will definitely be visiting many more times in the future!

We called in by chance as we did not know Winchcombe at all and were so pleased we did. The interesting menu lured us in and between us we had a really lovely moussaka, steak with garlic mushrooms , homemade tomato relish etc.Fortunately that left us both room for an irresistible dessert: apple and pear crumble with cinnamon custard.. The quality of the meat, cooking, service and atmosphere were all excellent. The landlady is particularly friendly and personable too
