"Slight delay in reviewing my evening but I seriously had no idea how to tackle it. This Grade II listed building and its surroundings are breathtakingly beautiful and the banquet room where two rosette Le Dragon Rouge restaurant is together with well thought out menu gives you an instant feeling of an extraordinary culinary experience about to happen. But unfortunately that’s not what happens next…. Firstly I’m not even sure if I have booked myself into Le Dragon Rouge, are there perhaps two different restaurants at the Chateau that I was not told about? Would definitely explain why my experience was so different from everything I read about it. Starters: Wild mushroom on toast, poached egg burnt bread/tasteless mushroom/badly poached egg Crevette Crispy Squid Chowder pretty much a bowl of sweet double cream with no seafood flavour Mains: Pan fried haddock, broccoli, peas, minted new potatoes, chive butter sauce first dish with a bit of a flavour, shame all I could taste was salt on a smallest fillet of haddock possibly found in the Irish Sea Cockle Smoked Mackerel baked paella, Laverbread butter, Parmesan chives sounded exciting on paper, ended up being a plate of lacking flavour rice Dessert: Coconut Lychee Cheesecake a bowl of runny mascarpone cheese with biscuit crumbles and few strawberries on top. Disappointment of the year! I really wish I could be more positive about my dining experience Chateau Rhianfa, especially that I’ve booked it as my birthday treat (absolutely no recognition from the restaurant staff) but unfortunately if you’re looking for fine dining please look elsewhere."

Perfectly edible but not the treat I was expecting. Broadly absent staff, cheap butter in wrappers, salt and pepper in packets, mediocre wines by the glass. I can’t imagine how this ever won an award.

Great service, friendly and knowledgable staff in regards to allergies/recommendations for wine etc. Beautiful setting. Food was amazing, I had the goats cheese starter, and the cod supreme, absolutely delicious. Well presented food. Attentive staff.

Very over rated. Average food at a very expensive cost. You can get better value and quality at nearby restaurants. Also one waiter on the evening brought us other peoples meals and the wrong dessert. For what you pay for the meals they should be better trained.

We booked a window table 3 months in advanced for birthday meal(only one with view),so when arrived for dinner was suprised to see someone else sitting there. They put us in a corner with no room facing two red walls .we ledt and got a excellent meal at Gazelle hotel less than mile away with better views and staff.

Chose Chateau Rhianfa for our family’s Father’s day lunch celebration, and we really couldn’t have chosen a more perfect location. Our meal could not have been more delicious, and the presentation and value for money £30 for a choice of three courses) was top-notch!! Oh and everyone in our party 7) received a free pint to celebrate Father’s Day!! Highly recommended.

The chateau is a hidden gem and needs marketing as it is truly captivating in both location and style . The food at this restaurant was beautifully presented, was of high quality and was imaginative, and cooked to perfection , such a shame there was only ourselves couple and one other couple dining . The staff were friendly and attentive , professional without being overbearing. This stunning hotel needs marketing as a fine dining restaurant not just a hotel , I have eaten in several places in Anglesey as it is my home and this is one of the best ! Please please management you must get this restaurant marketed as I believe most people will just drive past thinking it is just a hotel that has...

I was a bit worried about how the food would go as we had seen some varying reports of the restaurant, but I can only assume that the chefs must have recently changed as our meals were absolutely fantastic. The staff definitely seemed a little new, but everyone is new sometimes so this didn't bother us. Given we were staying at the hotel it didn't matter if things sometimes took a little longer, as we only had to go upstairs to reach our beds. The food itself was to die for. I could have paid 3x as much in a nice restaurant in London for this food and still would have been happy with it. There was not a single fault in any of the food or wine we had. The normal restaurant room was closed (no...

First the good. The food that was served was decent. The choice was very limited. Only a set, TDH menu with basically, steak, fish or veg. And over priced for what was available. It's a long way from a fine dinning experience and it seems the good chefs have left for other establishments. The restaurant feels like it's in a back room, with no view of the grounds or the waterfront and is rather tired, bordering on tatty rather than old world charm. The service was unusual despite an obvious management presence, too many little things wrong to list here but not what you expect from a hotel with pretensions of grandeur. It wasn't busy so no excuses for not having basics in place. Staff were ple...

"I've been to Dylans in Menai Bridge and always enjoyed it not this time. For the first half of our visit there was a stinging blue haze hanging in the air; the kitchen extractors clearly weren't functioning properly. Fortunately this cleared for the second hour we were there. Now to the service; after taking our drinks orders we waited nearly 15 minutes for them. Later, after staff had passed our empty glasses 20 times, we managed to order some second drinks by catching their attention. The food was the main problem; minuscule starters of crab and Welsh rarebit. My pizza came as a real surprise (as others have mentioned in previous reviews); gone is the thin crusted, well filled pizza of the past. The pizza is now about 20% smaller and my daughter mentioned that it looked like a child's portion. However, the main problem was the total lack of filling; there was a huge gap for at least an inch all round the pizza which was just fluffy dough. There were five tiny mussels on it and when I picked the mussel shells up they were so overcooked the shells turned to carbonised dust. I counted three tiny slices of red chilli. As others have mentioned, I realise the industry is having a hard time the price of the pizzas haven't gone up but the quantity and quality has plummeted and I would rather pay more to enjoy my meal. The pudding order came and was wrong. When the hot cross bun pudding came out it was still only on the wrong side of lukewarm. Don't get me started on the price of a pint of Aspalls £7.25, a price I would expect to pay in London. And before Lisa R replies that they would have replaced a dish, it would have been replaced with a similar disappointing dish....and no one bothered to ask us if everything was OK either during or after the meal anyway."
