"I spend at least one week in Granada, Spain each summer and always make my way up to the charming mountain town of Güéjar Sierra and have lunch at Bar Poli. Situated at the top of the main road through town, past the many restaurants and shops as well as the church and Plaza Mayor, this quaint dining establishment is owned and run by a local family and always used the freshest of ingredients either from their family farm or others in the area. I always have the choto, but everything is wonderful and cooked to perfection. Something as simple as potatoes and peppers here are a mouthwatering delight. A cerveza completes the experience and you won't be disappointed. I also always enjoy the fresh mountain spring water which is served from a lovely ceramic pitcher. The staff is incredibly friendly as well!!!"

Familiar, comida de la que se recuerda. De lo mejor, con diferencia.

Comida casera muy buena, pero los platos caros para los escasos que los sirven

The best kid from Güejar Sierra, a very traditional recipe made by the family that runs the place, always very attentive, eager to please and they gave us a taste of a local wine that we finally had for lunch. Better to book on weekends!!! View menu

"First time in Sierra Nevada for my wife and I. FYI . I spent 35 years in the food business. My option is as follows...... Christmas Eve so most Restaurants book out but managed to get a table here for 6.oc. What a BAD decision. We got a tasting starter of liver Pâté, which was fine. We ordered Foie gras for staters which came with cooked apple, jam and marmalade with sliced toasted bread roll. We got about 10 slices, 4 were properly toasted!! The Foie gras was hard and brittle, very poor storage , I suggest. For our main we ordered the Mexican fondue with chillies, crispy jalapeños, Mexican pancakes and crispy meats. The jalapeños were frozen stuffed with cream cheese , the ones you buy in the supermarkets, crispy meats was , again, frozen MRM/Minced chicken balls in a bread crumb, That’s Mechanically Recovered Meat. . We did query the “crispy “ meat but got “that’s it” . The pancakes !!!! turned out to be Nachos out of a packet, again Supermarket type. We did get a BOTTLE of chilli sauce, suppose they were the chillies !?!? The Fondue cheese was tasteless except for the taste of Cornflour one of the ingredients . But where was the Emmental/Gruyère cheeses, wine, lemon tastes.. NO WHERE !!!. For the privilege of ordering this supermarket junk food we were charged €20.90 a head. Not sure what the good Tripadv reviewers ate but not this rubbish. To me it a challenge to the “ Trade descriptions act”. Upon clearing our table and paying for this junk €90 in all The waitress never asked if all was ok... probably afraid to do so!!! The wine Protos 27 was the only saving grace. But you can’t screw that up. We left not leaving a tip and will not return. Thank God for TiTo Tapas food later."
