"This restaurant used to be very good, but it has recently declined in quality. The menu has remained the same for years and the cakes are not as good as they used to be. The outdoor area is in need of a thorough cleaning, as it looks like it hasn't been swept in a long time. My disappointment reached its peak when I took my sister-in-law for coffee while shopping for plants for her garden. They had no gluten-free cake options available, despite the fact that I need to avoid gluten for medical reasons. When I asked why, I was informed by a staff member that they don't offer gluten-free cake because it supposedly tastes bad and no one buys it. The staff member then proceeded to tell me that my intolerance to gluten is actually due to a lack of fiber in my diet, which is not true. She was incredibly rude and disrespectful to me as a customer, blaming me for my dietary restrictions. I would recommend avoiding this place if you have a gluten intolerance and instead go to Hadfields in North Walsham, where they have a great selection and a better attitude towards customers."

Sat outside in enclosed patio and had toasted sandwiches and pate. All home made and served to the table by friendly staff suitably protected.

Lovely piece of chocolate square with cup of earl grey tea. Very reviving after long walk. Plants all looking fabulous, really enjoyed my visit.

I don’t often write reviews but the staff were really friendly and accommodating with our order. The food was well prepared, tasty and good value. Thanks you Purdy’s for a lovely lunch.

Visited Purdys Tea Room within a garden centre/nursery. Clean premises. Very overpriced. Cheap thin bread. A bacon sandwich which can not come as toasted ? £4.95 and a child's HALF a sandwich £3.35! There are NO cooked breakfasts on the menu an oversight on our part as it is called a TEA ROOM. Toilets are outside. The staff are very nice :

I've dined at this restaurant once or twice before Covid. I ordered the ploughman's dish, which was just okay. However, I was disappointed that it came with sliced bread instead of the traditional crusty bread. Only flapjacks were available for dessert, as there were no cakes left. The coffee was decent and the staff were pleasant, but I probably won't be returning.

Busy on arrival with inside and outside customers. Spaced out tables. Clean surroundings. Staff polite friendly and very hard working. Drinks, tea and latte made in front of us. Good . Cheese scone very tasty and fresh. Ham and cheese toastie with crisps generous in filling. A good spot for lunch and will be visiting again. Lots of happy customers. The nurseries are quirky and full of well looked after plants. Super

Went today and arrived at 2:05. Asked to see a menu and was told they had finished serving from the menu for the day. All they could offer were some quiches that had stood in the warm and dried up cheese scone. Two slices of cake and about four buns left. We had a quiche, which was just stuck on a plate, no garnish and a dry cheese scone. We’ll stick with Aylsham Garden Vente in the future, much better choice, friendlier staff and more choice if FRESH food! Need to up their game with the competition.

This small tea room appears a bit worn out. The outdoor seating is nice, but the kitchen and serving area seem a bit dirty. The fly screen is filled with dirt and needs to be replaced. There was someone cleaning various surfaces with a cloth and rinsing it in the hand wash sink, but they did not seem very happy. The tea was average, and the coffee was weak because the portafilter was not cleaned properly. The menu claims to have vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free options, but there were none available at the cake counter. The only milk option was soy milk. Some members of our group tried the food, with mixed reviews. One person had a dry cheese scone, while another enjoyed the Victoria spong...

"I decided to surprise my daughter and take her for a deluxe spa break . We couldn’t fault the afternoon tea and massages at the spa these were brilliant . We were very excited about our evening meal but left feeling very deflated . On arrival no staff told us what we could have with our package, we received the wrong drinks menu. After around 20 minutes someone finally came over and asked if we wanted a drink. We ordered and asked for tap water too . One of the drinks arrived but the water and other one never did so we had to find a young bar man who was rushing about and ask him . He was lovely and went and got them for us . After a long time of waiting bread and something in a little pot was plonked on our table , no explanation what it was , we thought we had got someone else’s starter . Finally we ordered our starters it was lovely but no spoon for my daughters soup so again we had to search for staff , plates took absolutely ages to be collected, mains came finally after 1.5 hours. It was lovely but the atmosphere was bad as other customers were getting fed up of waiting too. Finally got dessert and after we finished we sat patiently waiting for our plates to be taken and bill given ,as a lot on the menu which we liked you had to pay extra for .I thought this was ridiculous thinking back how much this break had cost me . After staff walking past us and ignoring us and the empty plates I had had enough and went to find someone to put it on our room bill . This experience was not the lovely bday treat I had expected for my daughters 21st disappointing is an understatement!!!"
