"We have been loyal customers for many years, but today's experience was extremely disappointing. We waited 30 minutes for our drinks, and when they finally arrived, we were told that the server was new. While understanding, I politely reminded her about our order. Despite this, our food never arrived, causing stress for my 90-year-old diabetic mother who needed to eat. After 45 minutes and another reminder, we were met with annoyance rather than politeness. As a restaurant owner myself for 14 years, I know how busy it can get, but the restaurant was nearly empty at that time. When the food finally arrived, it was subpar - my bacon and Brie were mostly fat, while my mother's turkey was mostly stuffing. No one checked in on us or apologized for the delay."

"Came across this pub by accident when we got diverterted off the A47 during lunch time. Looks very inviting from outside, massive garden. Inside very welcoming, traditional looking pub with fireplace and beams. Lots of choice on the menu, with specials on offer. Staff were very, very friendly, explaining soup of the day and the days daily fish catch available. Large choice of beers available, lots of tables in bar and restaurant area. More than happy for our two dogs in the bar area and made us all feel very welcome. Food was fantastic with large portions I'm glad we didn't opt for a starter, but from what we saw, they looked fabulous) Very big piece of fresh tasting fish, lots of scampi, chips were perfect. Could not fault anything about the pub, food, service, everything was to very high standard, quite glad we got lost really, well worth the additional miles, highly recommended. "I decided to surprise my daughter and take her for a deluxe spa break . We couldn’t fault the afternoon tea and massages at the spa these were brilliant . We were very excited about our evening meal but left feeling very deflated . On arrival no staff told us what we could have with our package, we received the wrong drinks menu. After around 20 minutes someone finally came over and asked if we wanted a drink. We ordered and asked for tap water too . One of the drinks arrived but the water and other one never did so we had to find a young bar man who was rushing about and ask him . He was lovely and went and got them for us . After a long time of waiting bread and something in a little pot was plonked on our table , no explanation what it was , we thought we had got someone else’s starter . Finally we ordered our starters it was lovely but no spoon for my daughters soup so again we had to search for staff , plates took absolutely ages to be collected, mains came finally after 1.5 hours. It was lovely but the atmosphere was bad as other customers were getting fed up of waiting too. Finally got dessert and after we finished we sat patiently waiting for our plates to be taken and bill given ,as a lot on the menu which we liked you had to pay extra for .I thought this was ridiculous thinking back how much this break had cost me . After staff walking past us and ignoring us and the empty plates I had had enough and went to find someone to put it on our room bill . This experience was not the lovely bday treat I had expected for my daughters 21st disappointing is an understatement!!!"

"Where do I even begin? The service from the woman behind the bar was shocking. When I inquired about dairy-free options for my son, I was told that nothing could be modified and that they don't cater to allergies at all! I pointed out the menu's claim that they could accommodate such needs, but my concerns were met with an eye roll. I then tried to order him some chips, but was told they were fried in the same oil as dairy and meat products, and since we are vegetarian, that wouldn't work. I asked about the vegan dishes, only to learn that they are also prepared alongside meat products, so there's no guarantee they would actually be vegan. At this point, my daughters had already become excited about eating out and the play area, so I reluctantly decided to go along with it and ordered three sandwiches on granary bread and a child's fish and chips. My son had a packet of crisps. When the sandwiches arrived, they were absolutely terrible. The cheese and onion sandwich consisted of two slices of cheap store-bought bread, some pre-grated cheese, and a few onion slices—without even a hint of butter! It certainly wasn’t inexpensive; we paid £45 for four soft drinks, three sandwiches, and a child's meal. As for the play area, it was concerning—there were sharp screws poking through the wood chips, loose sharp fixtures on top of the slide, and a large exposed electric cable under the swings! We decided to leave swiftly; it was such a disappointing way to end our holiday, when it should have been a lovely final meal before heading home. I was appalled by their attitude towards me—I felt like an inconvenience. The food was awful, and I genuinely recommend avoiding this place if you are vegan or have allergies; even if a dish is labeled vegan, they certainly don’t take the necessary precautions to keep it separate from meat products. It’s truly unfortunate, as the location by the river is beautiful, and we were all so excited to be there, but we left feeling very disappointed. We definitely won't be returning."

"I’ve read some reviews of barnham broom. I can’t believe anyone would give it a 5 star rating. Stayed there two nites with friends, We ate at the brasserie on the first day, three starters were sent back and because they were so bad(dried and rubbery) we ordered crab cakes instead, Two had pieces of shell to them. As of mains. Duck cooked ok but orange sauce brown tasteless sludge. Vegetables over cooked. Hashed potatoes square stodgy block. The main that was of reasonable taste was the canalone. Did’nt bother with pudding as you might of guessed. Wine overpriced(39.95 for an ordinary Prosecco). As for the sports bar. It was so bad I haven’t time to write everything. Service was terrible.orders wrong. Food out at different times.Worst was none tasted halfway decent. I found it difficult to give the place one star. I will go back to play golf as both courses good, especially the valley course but will eat and drink somewhere else.shame as setting and views lovely. ."
