"Its worth getting to Caen well before your ferry so you can enjoy a final meal in France and Quai 52 is a great place to do this. They were serving all my favourites with options of mussels, oysters or foie gras to start (as well as the inevitable roasted camembert). For main course there was a good selection of meats and fish so something to please everyone. My only criticism would be that sitting inside (which we chose to do to avoid the smokers) they opened the windows so the smoke came in anyway, but this is always a problem when its warm."

Restaurant super deco sobre, the evening menu at 21 euros (entrance, dish and dessert) is really top. It's all home. The dishes are very nicely erect

Good choice of tasty well cooked and presented food at an exceptional price - excellent service by friendly and informative staff. So delighted with our evening meal on our first night in Caen, that we returned again the next evening.

We did not know what to expect when we entered this establishment but were pleasantly surprised. We were served in English and the recommendations were well prepared and very tasty. Overall a great experience. We shall recommend to all.

We went for the fixed price Menu 52 at €16·90 each . Delicious tart with cheese, ham and a poached egg then a lovely hake fillet finished off by isle floatant. Each dish was very tasty, service was splendid and the house wine could not have been better. Highly recommended.

We ate here on the last day of our holiday and we are so glad we did. The service and atmosphere was great. We started with the freshest oysters then went on to moules. My moules were cooked in a Roquefort sauce- fantastic! The crowning glory was Ile Flotante for desert. If you are in Caen don't miss this place.

I've already been here three years ago, and I can confirm again that this is a very high standard restaurant, with affordable prices!Oysters, bulots and shrimps as a starter, followed by a roasted cod with herb crust...all with delicious sauces that turned simple food into a great dish! The place is also quite elegant and the service is professional.

A perfect dinner: small price for 3 homemade dishes, tasteful and nicely served. Very well seasoned. Excellent address, almost on the port. Beautiful decoration, warm and modern. We loved the beautiful pie of the Pont The bishop, the terrine, the wing of raie with capers (and its delicious ratatouille, as well as its crushed potatoes). 16,90 euros until 9:00 : not to be missed !

Quai 52 looks gaudy and brash from the outside, but I gave it a go on a Saturday lunchtime and so pleased I did. Went for the 16.90 Euro menu. I started with mussels. Wonderful portion for a first course and excellent mussels with a great sauce. Then went for the chicken main, served with a mushroom and cream sauce with chips. Lovely. I asked whether the chocolate mousse was home made and was assured that all the dishes are. It was very good. Had a jug of the house wine which was ok too. Highly recommended

"Restaurant in a warm setting and where you feel good. On the other hand, we rarely saw such a shipping server: called recited dishes at all speeds and did not even have time to hear our question that it had already gone. I never asked if the meal was going well, not even at the end of the meal where it was only to reach the payment terminal without saying a word if it is a final "good-bye"... It may not have been his day but it makes the experience unpleasant. This can happen, but we also found two pieces of food wire in a canelloni. Too bad because some dishes were excellent. PS: I can't answer the following owner's message, so I do it here: This is your establishment, we took the menu in 7 movements on Saturday, December 11 at 7:30 p.m. The exact name might not be canelloni but it was a plant aviole in which there were two small transparent threads. To confirm that it was your restaurant, we also ate: emulsion egg with truffle (delicious), focaccia, sacred jacques in several kitchens with radish, foie gras cooked in a pot of juice with fire, rice with smoked milk (delicious), carpaccio mushroom and pork play if I'm not mistaken, etc. Saké as first agreement, etc. The main dish was 'a great chicken man' as we described the master of the hotel when we asked him the name of the dish and that he did not take the time to return to the repeat table. I confirm his behavior more than limit. One of the waitresses also served us twice was very pleasant and professional. I can call you if you need further explanations."
