"We had to have mussels while in France and found this restaurant right near our hotel. Did we ever luck out. This restaurant is owned by a husband and wife duo. The prix fixe meal for 16€90 was a great deal. We both had mussels meuniere. My husband had the fish of the day which was the best tuna he'd had that he didn't make himself. I had salmon croquettes. These were definitely not Mrs. Paul's! They were like a spring roll filled with salmon and pesto. Yum. Dessert was a butter apricot tart that melted in my mouth. Dinner was topped off by a complimentary plum wine. Couldn't wait to post a review. Not to be missed."

Family meal for 8 on a Saturday night. Managed to get a table without a booking. Dog friendly. Great menu especially the 3 course €17 menu. Good service, good quality food.

Good choice of tasty well cooked and presented food at an exceptional price - excellent service by friendly and informative staff. So delighted with our evening meal on our first night in Caen, that we returned again the next evening.

We did not know what to expect when we entered this establishment but were pleasantly surprised. We were served in English and the recommendations were well prepared and very tasty. Overall a great experience. We shall recommend to all.

We went for the fixed price Menu 52 at €16·90 each . Delicious tart with cheese, ham and a poached egg then a lovely hake fillet finished off by isle floatant. Each dish was very tasty, service was splendid and the house wine could not have been better. Highly recommended. View menu

A group of seven of us ate here having chosen the place at random. It was very inexpensive, service was friendly and welcoming and our meals, without exception, were very high quality. Tripe, mussels, duck, salmon, each was good, fresh and served very promptly. No problems recommending this place.

We ate here on the last day of our holiday and we are so glad we did. The service and atmosphere was great. We started with the freshest oysters then went on to moules. My moules were cooked in a Roquefort sauce- fantastic! The crowning glory was Ile Flotante for desert. If you are in Caen don't miss this place.

I've already been here three years ago, and I can confirm again that this is a very high standard restaurant, with affordable prices!Oysters, bulots and shrimps as a starter, followed by a roasted cod with herb crust...all with delicious sauces that turned simple food into a great dish! The place is also quite elegant and the service is professional. View menu

Quai 52 looks gaudy and brash from the outside, but I gave it a go on a Saturday lunchtime and so pleased I did. Went for the 16.90 Euro menu. I started with mussels. Wonderful portion for a first course and excellent mussels with a great sauce. Then went for the chicken main, served with a mushroom and cream sauce with chips. Lovely. I asked whether the chocolate mousse was home made and was assured that all the dishes are. It was very good. Had a jug of the house wine which was ok too. Highly recommended

Its worth getting to Caen well before your ferry so you can enjoy a final meal in France and Quai 52 is a great place to do this. They were serving all my favourites with options of mussels, oysters or foie gras to start (as well as the inevitable roasted camembert). For main course there was a good selection of meats and fish so something to please everyone. My only criticism would be that sitting inside (which we chose to do to avoid the smokers) they opened the windows so the smoke came in anyway, but this is always a problem when its warm.
