"We were here for dinner a few weeks ago. The restaurant is located in a quiet side street of Großhauheim. Parking is sufficient on site. You can sit inside and there is also an outdoor terrace. We sat in this outdoor area very cozy. The service was really very, very friendly and welcomed us directly. During our entire stay, she has always asked for further requests without being intrusive, recommended drinks and inquired about our satisfaction. It was really a very pleasant atmosphere. The food itself has tasted us all very well, as had Aioli, hand cheese, various carving variations and Kaiserschmarrn. But our highlight were actually the homemade lemonades that were recommended to us. Our conclusion: It was a very nice evening with delicious food and a great dedicated young lady as a service. We reserved a table for the next weekend."

The Ratskeller in Groß-Auheim is only recommended. Local hessian cuisine and much more, freshly prepared. Excellent. The service is mega friendly and even the boss himself can look back and forth and asks for the feeling. Well-being factor, price/performance ratio, ambience.... 10/10 points. Keep going. I've been there two times: winter (incl. overnight stay) and now in summer. The Terasse is top. Look forward to the next visit.

I've lived in grossauheim for 3 years now and I always wondered what this place was like. Last night was to be the night as on a whim we headed round on an explatory mission. To our surprise there was a massive outside yard hidden away that we weren't aware of before . The garden furniture was modern and comfortable and not crammed in to the point where you could see what the table next to you were eating. The service staff were a delight and the food was traditional and tasty. I really liked it and felt almost excited to have found such a hidden gem right on my doorstep . Will be back for sure.

"Two of us had spaghetti, two had madras cattle. The spaghetti was well received, my curry was poor. Too sweet, not hot enough, hard meat, more like a corma than a madras. Try Madhur Jaffrey's recipe: Ingredients 1 tablespoons coriander seeds 1 tablespoons black peppercorns 1 tablespoons fennel seeds 10 fenugreek seeds 4 cloves 4 dried hot red chilli 6 tablespoons olive oil or peanut oil 2 onions, very finely chopped 1 tablespoons fine rubbed fresh ginger 2 crushed garlic 3-4 fresh hot green chilli, very finely chopped Stir the spices over the heat until they are darker and give a roasted aroma. Transfer to a bowl and let yourself cool, then grind in a clean spice mill or coffee mill. Pour the oil into a wide, non-adhesive pan and put it over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add onions and boil, stir until they become brown at the edges. Add ginger, garlic and green chili and iron for 20 seconds. Add the meat and cook, stirring, for 5 minutes. Pour tomatoes, ground spices, salt and coconut milk and bring you to boiling. Cover the pan, turn the heat to low and simmer for 1 hour or until the meat is tender. Discover the pan and cook a lot of liquid until a thick sauce sticks to the meat. Garnish with finely chopped coriander. If you want to use pork, buy shoulder meat and cook it just like lamb. If you prefer beef, use high quality stewing beef, add some extra water and then cook for 11⁄2 hours or until tender."
