"This restaurant is situated in the old town in Bad Tölz near the top of the hill in the altstadt. It is a typical little German restaurant in the Bavarian Hofbräuhaus style. The waitresses are of course dressed in traditional clothing and were quick to serve us. I must agree with the other reviewers that at first the waitresses were not too friendly but this changed during the course of our visit and we had a bit of a laugh and a joke with them. The Bavarians are an unfriendly bunch at the best of times but once you get under their thick skin some of them are actually quite nice.We were a party of four as my wife and myself had guests from Japan with us.They do not speak any German but their English was perfect so we could order on the behalf.Of course we had to have beer with our lunch and as it was Hacker Pschorr it was of course cool and refreshing. We ordered our meal and each one of us chose something different from the menu. About 10 minutes later the meals arrived. I had ordered the Schweinshaxen which is the restaurants speciality or at least it was that day. This was a Pigs trotter covered in breadcrumbs served in a pepper sauce and with it came a side salad. My wife had Pfefferlinge and Knödel mushrooms and a dumpling and our guests both had a variation of the roast pork dishes with different side orders.I must say I was not only surprised but amazed about how good all the food was. My wife just looked at me and was flabbergasted. We eat out a lot but this was something else. Our meals were simply fantastic and the Japanese couple were also quite taken aback about how good it was.Would we go there again…. Of course. Next time we are in Tölz we will make this our regular haunt without a doubt."

Bavarian food a plenty, fresh and well served. Staff dressed in traditional attire added to the atmosphere. Great Beer choice too.. Enjoy

Great restaurant in Bad Toelz (Bavaria) with the best "Pfeffer Hax'n" ever. Need to try it....we waited three years to get back here just for this Hax'n. Definitely coming back again

The lonely waitress was probably overworked, but her service was slow and she was not friendly. The food was salty and unappetizing. The price was high for the food served and service provided.

Unfortunately this place leaves a lot to be desired. The waitress was the rudest person I have met. Barking at us no smiles no patience. Wanted sausage salad which was on he menu from 2 it was 2.30 and was told too early to have it ????? Ordered our food eventually mine was cold as was my coffee the noodle where crispy like they had been left out.

We were here this last weekend and sat outside in the beer garden. Juergen had Munich boiled beef with horseradish and hot potato salad. He enjoyed it. I had 2 small boneless pork chops on a huge round rosti potato with pffefferlinge (chanterelle) mushrooms which were prepared with onion and bacon. A salad came with it as well. Both were very reasonably priced and delicious. We will visit again should we return to Bad Toelz.

We stooped here on drive to Tegernsee.Lovely old town which is well worth visiting, parking was only 40 cents for a couple of hours and we were ready for a meal.Good menu, lots of choices and good options for kids meals.Couldn't go wrong with Wiener Schnitzel and fries.Big portions, good food, reasonable prices and an authentic Bavarian venue, well worth stopping at for a meal!45 euros for 2 adults main course, 1 adult starter, 2 kids main courses and 4 drinks, good value!

We went to the Biergarten for lunch, it was busy but not crowded. The waitress received us saying: ,get out of my way' which we should have taken as early warning. After a few minutes she dumped the menus on our table, muttering that two dishes were not available. After serveral attempts we managed to order drinks and food, the waitress was rather rude again (please note that we are German speakers, so no communication problems). Drinks arrived fairly quickly, food took endless - one would assume that Schweinebraten (Porks Roast) is not made from scratch. When our plates finally arrived, one salad was missing and was never delivered. Food was ok-ish, though we have seen far better Krautsalat...

Drawn to the Ratskeller by the beer garden, to taste the sausage and a lunchtime beer we were disappointed by the poor service and mediocre fare. After ordering we waited a good 15 minutes for our drinks and another 10 before the plate of Nuremburg bratwurste and sauerkraut arrived. The waitress was brusque and seemed angry. She refused to believe that one of the beers was flat, saying "that's how it is" and putting on a face that suggested she was sucking lemons. On paying we learned that a colleague had called in unwell and she was serving on her own. Clearly struggling to cope covering tables in the large inside area and in beer garden there seemed to be no help from the manager who could...

Been there on a family trip. Some tables were occupied but it was not busy. Already the waitress was more than stressed and unfriendly: "You have to wait for the menus. They are all in use" - (with half the tables empty). Orders were taken in a haste and when asked if we could have a second plate for the children to share their food we were told to remind her later as she can't manage to remember by the time food will be served. We soon discovered why: it took 40mins to serve sausages with chips. The other dishes were either dropped on our table while running past the table or we were asked to lend a hand. Had an empty drink after 20mins but wasn't asked if I wanted more. Based on the grumpy...
