"We enjoyed our meal here which was away from the touristy sections and clearly popular with the locals. The portions where huge and even the waitress stated that is not uncommon for people not to finish (though we saw many people who cleaned their plates)....I had duck two ways and my wife had cheese dumplings. The dumplings didn’t have much cheese and tasted like an nice ball of deep fried stuffing; which was appropriate as we went the day after US Thanksgiving. There was no room for dessert but the other people in the restaurant were clearly enjoying them. The staff was super friendly and we will gladly eat here again next time we are in Berlin."

A restaurant sought after by the locals, not surprising when you experience great food made and arranged with style but without pretense. Service is fast and friendly.

A good place to come with friends to enjoy an evening in a very nice atmosphere with below average food. The service is friendly and the food, as well as wine menu, offer enough variety to come more often. View menu

Have been here several times and was never dissapointed. Varied menu, friendly service, reasonably priced, good wines with each course. A Gasthaus in the the true sense of the word, in a calm neigbourhood.

what a great place. they feel welcome when they are in the door and greeted by the staff. When they wait, they enjoy a beautiful beer or wee at the bar to sit. the landscape is a real German beer cellar feeling. that eat speaks for his own. big German kitchen with modern touch. and don't let me start over the weeping list. do not forget to make a reservation

I have been here several times over the last years. It used to be very good/ almost excelllent. Nowadays, it seems to be average and waiting for tourists. Over Euros for a bottle of water is a rip-off. This time, the food was nothing...more than okish (though I agree that Euros for a menue/ ,three course a la carte is still reasonable). Never mind michelin; people are voting with their feet, the last time we tried to get a table without a reservation it was impossible; this time there were plenty of seats available (even at pm)... Renger-patzsch, beautiful mountain of the concierge in our hotel recommended this restaurant. it was Saturday night and the restaurant was completely booked. great atmosphere, families, business travelers, the whole crowd gathered. a traditional menu or not, pending. interesting. the menu will also be the...picky the personal was very busy, but they have always given attention. impressive. they have a good wine and beer selection, no problem if they want a glass and no bottle. both the flamingos and the lamb stew were pointed notches, the desert cake was ever so delicious. we're coming back.

Found this place in the French language Michelin guide for Berlin (pro tip: those guides are consistently good for selecting restaurants). This restaurant’s food features a flavor palette unmistakeable German: savory, rich, forest-ey, served in a French manner: small portion sizes, flavor-forward, attractive plating, all...with friendly and professional attention to service and presentation. We went for the New Year’s Eve prix tide — delicious! A perfect way to ring in Prices are incredibly reasonable given the quality. Space is comfortable though modest. Neighborhood is otherwise a bit dead.
