Very good and tasty german food. For dinner it's better to make reservation but sometime you can have luck to find a table without a reservation.

Traditional german ambience restaurant. If you are visiting aachen, you should try this. Their roast beef with onion cream sauce is perfectly cooked, juicy and tender.

We´ve been with friends to this place. It´s near the center, but a bit hidden The mood inside was amazing, full of happy people! Service was OK, and the food was great - specially the meat! I recommend this place when visiting Aachen, take the chance to find it.

I've been in this restaurant with a colleague during a business trip. It's a German restaurant with mainly meat dishes. I've chosen a thick roast beef (well done) served with sauce based on onions...very delicious! The plate was served with oven patatoes and salad.Total cost 25.70€ with 0.5l of German beer.I recommend it!

We had dinner twice at Am Knipp because it was so good. The potato soup was excellent. The schnitzel with mushrooms and cream sauce was the best I have had in many visits to Germany. Don't miss Sunday night at Am Knipp because that's spare rib night. The owner and her daughter were wonderful hosts. Am Knipp is definitely on my top restaurant list for Aachen.

We discovered Am Knipp while doing some research for our trip. A fantastic traditional tavern obviously very popular with locals with a fantastic atmosphere, exactly what we were looking for. Menu was small but full of traditional German food superbly presented. Staff were fantastic and one spoke Nederlands! It was great in summer, in winter it must be fantastic.PS the wine and beer were also great.

That old german restaurant feeling with everything inside from some other time. All of the menu is really great so I cannot really point out anything. Maybe the schnitzel with mushrooms and cream sauce was the best for me. Also try the mussels or snails if they are on menu. Btw. you also have the english menu available. Staff and service was also on level. I have had many visits to Germany but this is definitely one of the best restaurants and my number one in Aachen.

This family restaurant is two blocks from the city center of Aachen. The center of power of Charlemagne. Numerous Roman Emperors were crowned here. But back to the wonderful dining experience at Am Knipp. Outstanding hardy meals and wonderful salads (house dressing is incredible) as is the ham board or snail starters, for those not so hungry, there are a wonderful selection of starters and salads. Great wines and of course beers! I have returned numerous times to this restaurant due to work that brings me to this infrequently visited part of Germany.
