"After constantly eating rich food, we were craving for something light fresh. I seldom venture into new Vietnamese restaurants as my biggest fear is will it stand up to my standard being of Vietnamese heritage. Are we glad we did!!! This place ticked all...the boxes!!! I am still thinking of their spring rolls, served with fresh lettuce. The clean taste from the salad, accompanied by the ever-so crispy spring roll and the well balance nouc mam. We continued with one of their speciality Beef Pho! This will be a good test! A feature of a good pho is a clear and well balanced broth that does not require any addition and that they delivered!!! Ahhhhhhh We finished with their banana fritters and that was one of the best banana fritters I’ve eaten!!! It takes me back to when I was a little girl in Vietnam, waiting for the banana fritter lady to walk my street. As we enjoyed our 3 course there, what was very evident is this place is a local favourite! If you ever get the chance to spoil your taste buds here, go out of your way to strike up a conversation with the lovely couple. We sure did and was welcomed into their life. I hope our paths will cross in Australia one day"

I was a bit wary of going to a Vietnamese restaurant in France, but was very pleasantly surprised! My chicken with cashews was really, really good! I highly recommend it!

from hostile and friends went back to kapsaicin we went to phamily in vieux lyon. charming opposite and charming resto. the offers meet the bullseye. ask for extra thai chilies but as the tolerance for capsaicin is next to zero in france, so even “spicy” dishes are more tame for the American palate.

You know there was nothing wrong with this place, and the value was good. If it was in a different place it would probably stand out as good, but here it is just okay. There are so many good restaurants, this one just didn't stand...out. Service was a little rushed and not overly helpful, again, food was decent but nothing spectacular.

If you are looking for something other than the French menu of the day come here. The food is delicious, authentic Asian, and reasonably priced compared to other restaurants in the area. We ate here twice since we enjoyed it so much. We ordered Tom...yum soup, beef pho, cashew chicken and Vietnamese chicken salad. All were very good. The service is fast and polite.

We dropped in by accident because of rain. It's a very small place and tables are very close together. One person is the waitress, server, and cashier but she is quite efficient. We ordered the beef pho and cashew chicken. The pho is a good...sized bowl with plenty of beef and noodles. The cashew chicken had a unique taste which we believe may be honey on the chicken. It was very good in any case. The food comes quickly once the order is taken.

our delicious lunch in chez phamily vietnamese on the stretch de boeuf needs a mention for excellent tasting pho and tom kha kai suppen, fresh tasting bok choy and gambas citronnelle . our hostess was supported by her family cook and our repas...hot hot. the presentation and taste were really good and fresh ingredients in each of the dishes made the lunch very tasteful. priced I would say that every starter was 9 euro and main area between 9-18 euro. will recommend for those who do not recommend on a large budget.

This place was a surprise. We went in for lunch wanting something that was not French cuisine! Don't get me wrong, the French food we have been having has been amazing but I was missing soy sauce and ginger flavours. This little restaurant must have...had someone call in sick because the guy running the place was SOLO!! He was the host, the waiter and the chef. The place as moderately full and yet, he did a great job all by himself. The food, let's talk about the food we ordered the duck satay, fish with ginger, pork dumpling and Cantonese fried rice. Each of those dishes were made with such attention and packed with flavour. I highly recommend visiting this little restaurant and enjoying a...

when they come from the Usa Australian Canada or vietnam themselves and expect first-class authentic Vietnamese food, they will be disappointed. if they want to eat a break from lyonnais, then I would recommend it. the restaurant is run by a Vietnamese family that was in lyon in 92. the sohn runs in front of the house with dad cooking in the kitchen. overall it is a good absorption in Vietnamese food by lyon standard, but it is not particularly exciting. the menu is limited and has a mix of Thai and Vietnamese, but it is Vietnamese in first line. the service was nice and I would recommend it for this alone. note however, it can be quite smokey in the inside and for those who are sensitive to...

we were in vieux lyon long enough to taste some of the bouchons with their traditional Lyonnais food, but we also have torn something else. So we tried this little Vietnamese place in a picturesque little road and enjoyed it so much that we went back. a few nights later! the black spring rolls were so fresh and very tasty, served with salathaufen. the chicken with cocosnus etc. was incredibly tender and tasty and the portion was huge. I do not think I have seen such a generousness of protein in any Asian meal in Australia. the chicken salad was delicious, and the bananenfritter was very good. on our return the spicy calamari was a bit chewing despite the calamari. the huh with cashews was ag...

"My wife and I dined here on a Saturday night (having made a reservation several days in advance), and it was one of the best dining experiences we have had in France in a long time. We reserved for the early seating, showed up on time, and were among the first customers there. We had a small table near the door. The disadvantage is that we were occasionally wafted by a cold draft from the front door. The bigger advantage was that we were sitting near the restaurant's beautiful, precision, hand-operated meat slicer. The specialty starter is beef that has been cured for seven months with seven spices. It is sliced paper thin (and that is no exaggeration) and served heaped on a plate. Heavenly. My wife and I ordered only one of these plates and it was more than ample for the two of us.That was followed by our starters. I ordered the minestrone marocain légèrement épicé comme à Tanger (Moroccan minestrone, lightly spiced as in Tangiers), and my wife the rillettes de crabe aux petits légumes et Granny Smith (shredded crab with little vegetables and pieces of Granny Smith apple). Both were delicious. For our main dishes I had a pavé de cerf (deer steak), which was ample and perfectly cooked. My wife had fish, also cooked to perfection. I don't recall the wine we ordered, but the choice was from wines that were at their peak (not just wines one or two years old), yet the prices were reasonable. One remark about the decore: it manages to be a bit traditional and modern at the same time, with reproductions of paintings by Modigliani and various early 20th-century (mainly French) artists adorning the wall.Overall, a restaurant worth going out of your way for."
