Restaurant La Grotte Hotel Blumental Murren

The atmosphere and food were excellent in this restaurant. well decorated and the service was well appointed. I would definitely eat here again. Don't miss trying this gem.

Wieder einmal hatten wir einen sehr angenehmen Abend in der Wohlfühlatmosphäre des Restaurants La Grotte. Das Essen, Vorspeise & Fondue Blumental, war ausgezeichnet und das Personal sowie die Besitzerfamilie hat uns eine super Atmosphäre bereitet!

We enjoyed being able to stop in and visit La Grotte for the first time for dinner. Many of the restaurants in Murren have excellent menu choices and La Grotte did not disappoint. Service was also fast and our food was excellent. I look forward to visiting again soon.

Das Ambiente ist sehr autentisch & verspricht eine schönen Abend. Die Fleischgerichte sind vorzüglich (trotz teilweise ausländischer Herkunft). Jedoch Vegetarische-Gerichte wie auch Desserts, sind zwar essbar jedoch kein Genuss. Das Personal ist freundlich & zuvorkommend. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältniss stimmt.

Booking a day for this restaurant. At 8 a.m. when they asked us to come (not our desired time) and they told us that the kitchen was closed. No excuse, nothing. Great service!!! From what I could see... occupied in the tables, the food looked quite average anyway so easy to avoid You this place many other great options in the village.

La Grotte, Hotel Blumenthal-as Rick Steves says – elegant, but we had quite bad service 1/5. Flavor's nice, but server screwed and actually told us our plate of Fritten, which he initially served half, weren't for us? Little chicken portion but with interesting cranberry mousse. Partner had chickens with orange sauce that was excellent. Food 3/5.

We just had two terrific meals here. The first night we ate inside and had Fondue. The service was very good and the food was excellent. The atmosphere was very cozy and nice with linen tablecloths. The second night we ate outside and had the poached Salmon with dill sauce and lasagna, both of which were excellent. Also. We recommend the Farmer's Salad with Murren cheese!

We ate at several restaurants, and this was our favorite. The atmosphere is quiet and a feel of an upscale restaurant. The menu is well varied. The service was good, but our waiter seemed rushed and harried. The food was excellent and well presented. Reservations...are recommended. I'm not rating at top for value because it is high compared to comparable restaurants in other countries. However, has very high restaurant prices. Blumental is comparable to similar quality restaurants in Murren. I highly recommend it.

La Grotte at the Hotel Blumental has 2 great dining options: a lovely outdoor seating area, and a very charming indoor area w/ exposed stone (see pictures). We ate the first night outside, and liked our dinner so much we came back again 2 nights later to eat indoors. Food was delicious. The Chef at La Grotte is from Italy, so we chose lasagna - and it was a great choice - one of the best dinners we had on our trip! The indoor dining room has so much character with the exposed stone walls, and wood ceilings / charming decor, we really enjoyed the atmosphere.
