"Transparency: it has not been clearly declared at any time that at New Year's Eve only a New Year's menu (strongly compressed card) is available instead of the complete menu. The additional costs for this were considerable and had a considerable influence on our decision making for a restaurant visit in the knowledge of this circumstance. Hidden costs are not at all! Service: employees did not take time for the guest, constantly brought incorrect orders. This was also true for the surrounding tables. A wrongly served food was taken away from the side table after 4 minutes to feed you to us. Even if the food has not been stirred until then, you can not put the food back to another guest that is a gastro Nogo! Quality: the meat, for which the place is special, was in order and well brought (medium was almost good at the point and had a rich pink color) but was by no means high quality, which in turn should have reflected in the high price for the New Year's Menu! Ambience: the restaurant is conveniently located and quiet and the facility is lovingly designed."

Can be an alternative to Block House... but don't. Steak was not cooked on the point. Service was attentive. View menu

For the New Year's dinner instead of 4 only 2 courses get without a negotiation basis. The staff then pressed more on the lacrimal gland. Absolutely unrecommended!!!

The tables are too tight. When the guests left the neighboring table, my glass fell. The service didn't even ask if it tasted. It smelled strong after garlic, which went over to clothes. The quality of the meat was moderate.

We were in Hamburg for a weekend and spotted this restaurant by chance. My husband had a burger that lets all the other Burger shops forget. My carving with hunting sauce and the tasteful vegetables were fantastic!! Pure taste. Too bad we live so far, that would definitely be our favorite place! View menu

The food was plentiful and excellent the steak super grilled roast potatoes in the super tasty quality I had in no restaurant yet. The service was very nice and we didn't have to wait long for the food super was the online table reservation could still sit nice on the outside terrace on cozy chairs and if necessary a cuddly blanket .Go and convince yourself!!! We will take the long way again and there delicious food!! !

The visit has a little saddened the New Year's Eve. In advance, there is no information that there is only a menu, let alone what a menu is. Strangely, other guests also get dishes that were not standing on the map ok partly very hectic. The ordered fillet is very small and partly very burned, the mushrooms ... now yes... fully-fledged with water and oil. Potatoes as from the warm-keeping box. Lamb was delicious pig ok and the poultry dry. Price performance absolutely not justified for this quality of meat and service.

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
