We had 4 dinners here in total and thoroughly enjoyed them all. There is something for everyone and a high culinary standard.

Had a very nice lunch here on a white out day. Good service and nice menu. Big wine list. Dining room overlooks garden and pool. Very quiet as i guess people think it may be expensive, which it isnt.

We had two beautiful lunches here during our skiing holiday. It really was lovely food. The service was faultless. Very quiet at lunch time but when we tried to book for the evening it was fully booked. 8/10

The small 1 star restaurant and the general dining room share a kitchen, and the cooking is correct and very good. formal italian with creativity. Professional and attentive service, and not overly expensive for what it was.

If this is only the 41st best restaurant in the town I can't wait to try the first 40. This place has a Michelin star and it is well deserved. The atmosphere and setting is world class and the service is even better. I ate here for a business meeting and it was one of the best meals I have ever had. I had the lamb pot stickers followed by the filet which was rare, breaded, and then fried. It was great, as was the dessert. The wine selection is also world class. Highly recommended.

Had lunch with 5 friends and stayed for hours. All the meals from pumpkin risotto to sea bass to tagliatelle were enjoyed by their respective diners. The pumpkin risotto was my favorite. The wines were great and well worth the money. I had a red blend and was the best wine I’ve had between here and the states. We retired to the bar and spent a few more hours there sipping wine, coffees, etc., not wanting to leave on the bus back to Chamonix. While there, check out the decor which has antlers for lamps, chairs, tables, chandeliers, etc.

We had a business lunch there. In advance, the kitchen was informed that we are vegetarian but that didn't help with poor vegetarian menu. It was just a spaghetti with tomato sauce, and some gilled cheese(not so good) and grilled vegetable(eggplant was pretty much raw) and all was not really any good taste(and we are not that demanding). I know that we live in a meat eater world but still, hotel and a restaurant 5* should have a chef that can offer more than grilled cheese and veggies!! This is not a vegetarian meal and vegetarians will understand.

if you are ever in Courmayeur, please do yourself a great gastronomic favor and visit the Royal: dinner here was simply epic. I cannot comment on their pasta dishes, except that I watched them go by and wanted to taste them all. We did however try the chef's reinterpretation of a lobster Catalan salad and red mullet in gazpacho and did not talk to each other for 10 minutes we just kept muttering mmmmmhhhh's of satisfaction. We booked earlier in the day, during quiet season (end of March), for a table for two.I think in busy season you might have to book further ahead. Actually we initially wanted the Petit Royal but a large group were in there, so we were offered the Grand Royal restaurant, and i must admit were a little apprehensive, thinking we were going to get second best.
