"Me and my fiancé were staying at the crianlarich hotel and thought we would try the rod and reel restaurant as we were told about the stake pie and all I can say is the service was just dreadful the woman behind the bar with a weggie accent and track bottoms and trainers was so rude she just wanted to look on her computer for football The food was microwaved we ate a little as it was so rubbery and cold beer tasted like it was watered down and way over priced I get a better tasting beer back home and it’s cheaper so please folk stay away from this place if you want to live and not be poisoned I am taken this further as they should not be in business it’s absolutely disgusting and stinking"

Really Impressed with the compliance to COVID. I felt very safe with the cleanliness of this pub. Food and beer was nice.

In the afternoon we had a beer outside on the terrace and later that evening we came back for dinner. Just a fine pub. Good food. Nice service.

My family and I ate here for two nights. Its a friendly pub. Nice selection of food and alcohol to choose from. Big portions. We had the curry, steak pie, haggis and salads over the two visits. Reasonably priced and would recommend to anybody staying near the pub

We came here while we were staying at the best Western Hotel just up the road. The place has a village pub type feel and serves typical pub grub. The portions were quite generous and just what we needed after a days walk on the west highland way. A pleasant and reasonably priced meal.

This restaurant was terrible. The bathrooms were dirty and the food was awful. The chef even called her own dishes 'filth' and the service was nonexistent. The staff were incredibly rude and the COVID safety measures were lacking. I could only bear to stay for 5 minutes and regret ever going there.

Four of us popped in on saturday night for what we thought would be a nice evening, a good meal and a few drinks. How wrong were we!! Food was disgusting (all four meals) and when we complained the attitude from staff was also disgusting, displaying a couldn't care less attitude.I dont think they will have a lot of repeat customers if our experience is anything to go on and quite frankly they do not deserve it.I would say avoid at all costs and as a previous reviewer said use the hotel down the road. The Rod and Reel Never Again!!!!

One of the few places open in Crianlarich post lockdown forced us to frequent this dump. Absolutely no atmosphere, knuckle dragging staff were in attendance where a smile or kind word would have cracked their ashen faces. The locals that were holding court and speaking over our heads were presenting a vast array of racist and anti women comments and views that these little isolated villages often contain. On a plus side the food was edible but remember this little ditty. The rod and reel, only if you are feel. We will not be returning and hopefully this aberration goes bust quite soon.

Food is amazing, very reasonably priced. Highlights are the chicken curry and a gigantic fish chips. Service excellent.Just a slight note over covid measures in the current climate. While signage is visible and alcohol gel plentiful, you needed to be quite proactive to get your details included in the register for track/trace. Perhaps all staff members are exempt but face coverings are not evident by staff. Generally customers haven’t embraced wearing of face masks while moving around or entering prior to rules being changed next Monday. Probably the most relaxed place we’ve visited in the whole of Scotland in 2 weeks.
