"Only went for a drink (no food) with a few friends. Haven't been for a good while and hadn't realised what was the car park has now been turned into additional seating areas to maximise social distancing. Has a one way system, front to back (though later in the evening this gets informally relaxed if the numbers are low enough). Good experience though, and recommend the Twisted Spire good pint in my humble view."

"This restaurant is housed in a charming historical building that has retained a lot of character. The menu offers a variety of unique and interesting dishes to choose from. We all had a great dining experience and found the food to be delicious. They also have a great selection of ales on tap."

"The food at this restaurant was excellent and compliments to the chef are in order. However, the service was extremely disappointing during our pre-booked champagne afternoon tea for my nan's birthday. Despite waiting for a long time, the champagne and pots of tea were forgotten and we had to remind the staff. Even after the food arrived, we had to wait ten minutes for cutlery. The lack of organization and communication was unacceptable for the price we paid for this 'experience'. We will not be returning and would not recommend this establishment. To make matters worse, when we asked for the bill, we had to track down a staff member who was found standing in the kitchen on her phone. This behavior is unacceptable, especially when dealing with paying customers. Overall, the service was awful."

"I have not been to the Red House for a couple of years but we frequent many of the Paragon Group on a regular basis. I was therefore really shocked when we arrived to be confronted by a queue of people at the door waiting to give their details to the front of house attendant. We managed to crowd into the porch area but then more came who were waiting outside and it was freezing. I counted 17 people waiting! By the time we eventually reached the front and were asked for our table name it still was not ready and by now it was 30 minutes after our time slot. We did not even receive an apology for the situation which led me to believe that this was perhaps the norm for a Saturday night at 7.45pm. Not impressed and would not return to this one in a rush."

"Saturday evening, arrived 8.10 and bar staff advised we couldn't order food for an hour, despite the place being half empty. So we confirmed the kitchen was open until 9.30 before ordering a bottle of wine intending to order a meal later. Went back to bar to order food at 8.50 (getting hungry) only to be told the kitchen was closed?! I was fuming as we checked all this before ordering drinks. So too late to eat elsewhere either. This place used to be an amazing gastropub, but a local confirmed it had changed hands a few years ago.. it shows! Menu looked very basic pub food and lots of half full plates being returned to the kitchen whilst we waited our hour thinking we could order food."
