We actually ate here in August This is a beautiful place. It is right on a little lake with the Alps surrounding. The food was good and the service friendly and warm. Very peaceful and idyllic

Staying in Am See and this is our "local". The food is excellent quality and very good value, the meat special night on a Wednesday especially so. The staff are very friendly and speak good English. Even if you are not staying locally its well...worth a visit, the view over the lake is a great bonus

We enjoyed an excellent lunch at Gasthaus Seeklause with a beautiful view of the Hintersee. Goulash soup, asparagus soup and the local fish platter were all excellent. Soup portions were a meal by themselves. Service was prompt and friendly. It was great to find excellent...food in such a scenic location View menu

We came here in January, be careful when it's open and closed as they operate small hours at this time of year. Kitchen closed at in Jan. Food was good, typical bavarian dishes which is fine as we like them. No english menu but...my reasonable German got us through with a little help from a waiters ok English

We arrived at and the first waiter told us it was too late to order as last orders are taken by The second waiter was more cooperative and told us that as we were late only a Limited menu was available. He provided...us with an excellent steak and price was very reasonable. Restaurant has a nice setting on the lake

I came here after an amazing day at the lake. There isn’t a big choice of restaurants next to the lake. We decided to come here for dinner, because the terrace overlooking the lake looked quite promising. We ordered their special offer – grilled pork...with vegetables for two. The vegetables were kind of soggy and they almost all tasted the same, the meat was tender. The food was okay, but nothing special View menu

Wir fahren seit über 20 Jahren nach Ramsau und sind regelmäßig hier eingekehrt. Wir waren immer sehr zufrieden und die Bedienungen sehr freundlich. Jetzt haben wir aber entschieden, dass es das letzte Mal war. Das Personal war unfreundlich, unverschämt und hat Gäste gemobbt, wenn sie nach dem Essen nicht sofort neuen Gästen Platz gemacht haben. Das hätte es bei den alten Inhabern nie gegeben. Außerdem war das Essen damals um Welten besser. Sehr schade.

I've been to this restaurant twice now. Each time the food was fantastic! The salads are fresh and the the dressings really enjoyable. The Schnitzel crispy and good quality meat. Also the view is worth mentioning! The Hintersee is one of my favorite places in...the Berchtesgaden region, as it's so calm and peaceful and not too many tourists. I would recommend parking your car by the restaurant, walking around the lake and then enjoying a wonderful meal at the Seeklause. We will definitely return

Even though I had visited the Hintersee before, I was not aware of the Seeklause until our hostess in Berchtesgaden recommended it. This was well worth the drive, for the setting on the lake as well as some of the best food I have eaten...in Bavaria and the Salzburg area. We arrived around p.m. on a Sunday and lucked out, securing not only a rare open parking spot, but also an outside table, as both were in high demand that day. The view alone was great, and the food was just as good. We both ordered the schnitzel, which was cooked perfectly and came with a cranberry relish as well as potatoes. Supposedly, anybody can cook schnitzel, but I have been disappointed many times, even in Bavaria.... View menu
