"Wine list had fewer wines than on web site and the one we had chosen in advance was not listed. Also the wines on the list had all 75cl bottles recorded as 7,5 cl’s and half bottles as 3,75 cl’s instead of 37.5 cl’s. We ordered vegetable soup delicious), but the waiter an older man with a moustache), spilled the soup onto the table in front of my wife and then spilled even more soup on the table in front of me. Worst of all was the lack of an apology. even in Italian. He put a napkin from another table on top of the spilled soup. I then ordered penne pasta with prawns and zucchini which was delicious. My wife ordered Risotto with asparagus which was awful watery and like wallpaper paste in consistency). She did not finish it. We were given complimentary bread ie: left over pizza dough) and complimentary limoncello and biscuits at the end, when requesting the bill. When the bill arrived however, they had charged €25 for wine, when the bottle requested and given) was on the menu for €18. I complained. A waiter who spoke some English was sent to explain that the wine ordered for €18 was only a ‘half bottle’ and that they had none in stock, so they had given us a full bottle for €25, which we had agreed to when ordering. This was nonsense !! I asked to see the wine list again and showed the waiter, the wine I had ordered €18) and pointed out that it was exactly the same as the empty bottle now in front of us. He pointed out that although the wine I had ordered for €18 said 7,5 cl’s on the menu, it was a misprint, as it should have been 500 ml’s. He took the page out of its plastic wallet and with an ink pen changed 7,5 cl’s to 500 ml’s in handwriting. Unbelievable ! They insisted that I pay €25 for an €18 bottle of wine. You may be thinking “it’s only €7, just pay it and move on”. The thing is I understand the difference between 7,5 cl’s, 75 cl’s and 500 ml’s. So I pointed out that this mistake was not our fault, but the restaurants fault and only then did they back down and agree to charge €18. We won’t be returning despite the positive reviews which brought us here. Shame, the food was reasonably good except the risotto) but the service was shambolic."

We booked the Pizzeria because in front of the Museo of Illusioni. NIce environment and nice food and service. Only not too positive note is the dust on the bottles of liquori exposed at the bar.

View menu

Went because of above average reviews but what a disappointment. Pizza was soggy. Spaghetti Frutti de mare was low on ingredients and very salty. Tagliatelle Bolognese was blend. Even the wine was cheap quality but hug in price. Cannot even dream of going back to this place ever again.

We went here based on the trip advisor reviews. It was only a few minutes from our hotel and we were very pleased with the food selection. It was relatively busy for New Year's Day. They were very accommodating towards our children, so splitting an adult portion between the two. It was quite pricy.

"Visited months ago The label of a vegetarian restaurant absolutely does not correspond to what Joia represents in the Italian gastronomic panorama. We are talking about the maximum expression of haute cuisine, overwhelming ideas, bold and unexpected combinations, exceptional raw materials, all served in an exclusive environment suitable for providing customers with a fantastic experience. Chef Leemann showed up in person to take the order and give his suggestions on the sequence of dishes. The service staff has always proven to be very prepared to answer all our questions or curiosities about the dish itself and this knowledge was not only the heritage of the waiter who brought the dish to our table and described it to us, but of all the staff who, even randomly, we stopped to ask for further explanation! The wine list was excellent from which we chose a Barbera d 'Alba by Bartolo Mascarello. But let 's get to the food. As entrees... and calling them entrees is definitely limiting! We were offered 2 wonderful tastings which unfortunately I cannot remember in their composition, but the first was a cream with carrot and rhubarb served in a mini terracotta vase, while the second appeared like a palette of colors where some fantastic raw materials sauces could be combined manually. My lunch then began with the Cantiam la montanara where, under a soft celery foam, there was a composition of green asparagus, spring onion and truffle on chopped borlotti beans. Fantastic dish, sublime with exceptional aromas!. I then continued with The navel of the world , a wonderfully plated dish where two types of rice are used, one as a base made with asparagus and watercress, and in the center a Venere rice cake finished on top with saffron almond cream . Finally I closed the lunch with a selection of 8 cheeses, some of which were truly exceptional, accompanied by jams/honey. Obviously the bill is in line with the proposal and with the experience. I must say that it was truly a pleasure and an honor."
