"We made a reservation for the first night of our arrival at Dufftown, but apparently that evening the restaurant was closed. Because the error was with them, they welcomed us and treated us as if they were open. We were the only guests and had a wonderful diner, only to be excelled by a couple of treats in the restaurant 's 'whisky salon '. Around the fire place, we enjoyed a fantastic selection of Scottish drams before heading into the stormy night. Even though there isn 't much choice on restaurants in the area, this is worth the detour in any case. Hopefully I can get back in the next few years, but hey...Brexit makes it more difficult."

The food is not bad, but highly overpriced. With 45£ for three course dinner it’s double the price for bar food dinner. Had better diners in bars for half the price

Rose and Patrick were amazing hosts! The food was fantastic, the wine (my wife) and the whisky selection (me) expansive, and the coziness was just what we wanted. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a great dinner in Dufftown!

We had the absolute best meal here while we were staying in Dufftown. Reservations are a must and they aren't open every day but trust me, it is absolute worth it! Rose and her husband were absolute gems of a host and we cannot say...

Me and my partner visited this evening for food and had a great 3 course meal. Rose is so welcoming and lovely and Patrick’s food was delicious from start to finish. We can not recommend this enough and will be visiting again when we are in the area. View menu

What a fabulously, cozy restaurant with great menu, wonderful food, fabulous hosts! We ate here whilst staying in Dufftown for a friend's 60th birthday and were fortunate to be able to book a table. We booked in advance as it's only open certain days ...

What a brilliant evening. Excellent food, excellent service, fantastic hosts, great ambiance. Just had the best evening here at the Seven Stills. The seafood gratin was amazing, the lamb perfectly cooked and seasoned. Rose and Patrick were perfect hosts. Finished off with some great cheeses...

We were very excited to check out this restaurant based on the reviews we found and it absolutely lived up to its hype. What a wonderful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere that Rose and Patrick have built in their little restaurant is unique, delicious, and hospitality at its finest. My husband and I were delighted to dine in their establishment and would recommend it to anyone passing through speyside. View menu

Five stars! Amazing food, thoughtfully planned and perfectly executed (I especially loved the venison lasagna). Fun, unique decor featuring a cosy wood fire on a cold night. The couple who run this place are fantastic: a chef from France with passion for food and his English wife with a great whisky collection and a talent for making every guest happy and satisfied with their dining experience. Chef Patrick and Rose, thank you for a beautiful and memorable meal and evening!

We went by on the off chance we could get a table and after having drinks in the pretty garden we were able to get a table. The four of us were warmly welcomed by Rose and enjoyed a delicious dinner. Patrick the chef found time to chat with us too even thought the restaurant had become quite busy by then. This little gem was such a delightful find, ambiance, food and drink and excellent service and I highly recommend it. This was our first visit to Scotland and I would definitely go back the next time we are over there.

"Genuinely couldn't fault the experience. When I heard that the Drouthy had a new menu focusing more on a veggie and vegan base, I knew I had to give it a whirl. The starter of hot Smoked salmon with lemon creme fraiche and oatcakes was simple yet packed full of flavour. I could have easily have had 10 plates of that and been happy to give it 5 stars. My partner had the smoked duck and even though I have given up meat, I was salivating at the look of their dish. They assure me that it was as delicious as it looked. Served with lavender roasted potatoes (which I'm told were amazing and charred salsify. The mains were more than a match for the brilliant starters. If I could give one piece of advice, it would be get the beetroot risotto. Not being a massive fan of beetroot, I wasn't too sure about it. But the incredibly warm waiter (for my son's, I never got his name. I only hope he can forgive me if he reads this! assured me it was tasty. He was not wrong. Beautifully cooked vegan risotto with balsamic beetroot chunks, shiitake mushrooms and rocket, it was simply divine. WHEN I go back, I'll be hard pressed to go for anything else because it was so delicious. It was creamy, packed full of flavour and cooked absolutely perfectly. Just the right amount of bite, nowhere near being mush like you get in a lot of other places (who charge a lot more, by the way . Superb. The highest of compliments to the chef. I was so taken by my dish I forgot to ask how my partner's was until I had eaten all of mine. But their home made vegan tagliatelle had disappeared from the plate so it must have been amazing. I couldn't handle dessert so had a delicious ruby port (delaforce I think it was called , and I would also like to give credit to whoever came up with their wine list. It covered every single base and no-one could ever be disappointed. Finally, if you're ever in Elgin, please make sure this is one of your destinations. You will leave extremely happy."
