"The food is prepared fresh upon ordering, and the cod was both fresh and well-cooked. However, the chips were a little soggy—this might be due to the time of year. The meal was on the pricier side at £23 for two cans of drink, two servings of peas, two pieces of fish, and one small portion of chips. "This charming, family-run hotel has a classic feel and is tucked away from the usual tourist paths. It has built a loyal customer base and boasts a fantastic reputation for dining, which I wholeheartedly agree with. My wife and I spent three nights here, and I struggled to find any faults in our experience or our dinners. The cuisine is traditional British, with flavors that were truly delightful. After three courses each night, we were pleasantly full. While the prices are not the cheapest, they are very reasonable considering the exceptionally high quality of the meals. The maitre d', Craig, provided impeccable service with great attention to detail. Our deluxe room was beautifully furnished and spacious, complete with both a bathtub and a separate shower. There are lovely coastal walks nearby, and a charming village close by features a bathing beach and a pub along the way. This is a place not to be missed. For us, it was perfect. "Delightful café and justifiably busy on a wet Saturday lunchtime. Dogs are welcome and if their owners are coeliac then they can cater for them too. They have a separate fryer for gluten free and will substitute across their menu. They do gf bread and have a menu available via QR code where you can select allergens. Food was delicious, staff super friendly, patient and helpful. We had brunch great variety including lots of vegetarian options. The atmosphere was lovely and areas have clearly been updated recently. Plenty of seating upstairs and down, right by the beach and a stone’s throw from the Teignmouth foot ferry."

"Disappointing if I’m honest. We booked as a family because we really fancied some fresh seafood. When we called we specified that there were six adults, five children and a baby in a high chair. At no point during that call did anyone say that there is no children’s menu available which made for an even more expensive trip. The food was very expensive, we ended up getting the children to share three fish and chips between them and the fish inside the batter was lovely but the chips were drenched in oil. Three of us shared one of the platters and whilst it was lovely and very well presented, we all walked away hungry as there isn’t really much fish on there for you to eat. The waitress was lovely but we had to keep prompting for things we’d asked for that had been forgotten despite the restaurant being empty."
