"there are many beautiful, picture book pretty places in the cotswalds, but for me, the fairest of them all must be the two swallower; above and below. connected by the flusuck and a mile long walk through several mudy sheep paddocks, it is impossible not to be taken from the clearness of the water, the divinity of the gardens and the tranquil surroundings. the only possible problem is to find somewhere to park their car, especially when they arrive at the midday. . a curious among estimated place (with plenty of parking,) at least when we arrived, the stately lower slaughter manor (picture top right.) the gardens are manicured and the front rasen is...read more"

Had the full cream tea experience in beautiful settings. Friendly cheerful staff. Relaxing ambience. Cream tea was excellent.

The food and service at this restaurant were excellent. Everything was delivered promptly by a professional and friendly staff. If I had to make one critique, it would be that the dining room felt a bit dull.

This place is simply gorgeous. I had afternoon tea with my friends and it was just perfect. The staff it absolutely top class and the afternoon tea was second to none. I live locally and I go there whenever I can. High racomanded. Thank you for a fantastic afternoon!!

We had full afternoon tea with Champagne which was quite expensive for the overall experience. We sat outside in a beautiful setting. The service was aloof, delayed and a bit scattered given the distance from the hotel and the staff’s preference to plop you in a stuffy and overcrowded indoor lounge. The high tea offering was decent, but felt very stingy and rationed throughout. View menu

Popped in for late afternoon drinks and a light bite at the bar. (We were staying at the more informal Slaughter Country Inn opposite). The cocktails were fantastic and by around 7.30 in the evening, we were lucky enough to have the beautiful lounge area to ourselves. Other folks had moved on to eat at the restaurant. Note that the Manor does not open on a Sunday or a Monday so you will need to time your visit. A big thanks to the bartender (I forgot their name) who looked after us and shared with us about the heritage of the building.

We stayed at the Slaughters Inn and decided to indulge in fine dining on our first night. Unfortunately, we regretted our decision. The atmosphere was luxurious and the lounge area welcoming, but the large dining room felt empty with only four customers. The service was okay, but not very efficient, especially when it took 15 minutes to discover that the wine we ordered was not available. The food arrived promptly, as the kitchen was not busy, but it was bland and unremarkable. Our local restaurant serves tastier food at a lower price. Despite the lovely surroundings, we cannot recommend this restaurant.
