"I recently had the pleasure of visiting Slug Lettuce Deansgate for a cocktail making experience, and I must say, it was an absolute blast! The evening was made even more enjoyable thanks to the exceptional service provided by Beth and Tom, who truly made the experience memorable. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the cocktail making. Beth and Tom showcased their expertise and enthusiasm, guiding us through the process of crafting our own delicious concoctions. Their knowledge and friendly approach created a fun and engaging atmosphere, ensuring that everyone had a great time. The opportunity to learn and create unique cocktails was a fantastic way to make the evening special. One of the standout features of the experience was the affordability of the cocktails. Slug Lettuce Deansgate offers reasonably priced drinks, which made it even more enticing to explore the diverse range of options available. The opportunity to enjoy high-quality cocktails without breaking the bank added value to the overall experience. The atmosphere at Slug Lettuce Deansgate was vibrant and lively. It's worth noting that the venue can get quite busy and crowded, which is a testament to its popularity. While this may result in some congestion, it also adds to the energetic vibe of the place. Despite the crowds, the staff managed to keep up with the demand and deliver excellent service. In terms of the overall experience, there were a few minor drawbacks. Due to the popularity of the venue, securing a table or finding a comfortable spot can sometimes be a challenge. However, the overall positive atmosphere and enjoyable cocktail making experience more than made up for this slight inconvenience. In conclusion, Slug Lettuce Deansgate offers an exciting and vibrant cocktail making experience. The exceptional service provided by Beth and Tom, along with the affordability of the cocktails, added immense value to the evening. Although the venue can get busy and crowded, the overall atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. Came here during the week for some drinks and I have to say Imogen is amazing!! 10/10 service, she was so helpful in recommending cocktails and they were so good! She was very chatty and made us feel welcomed. Would definitely come again just for Imogen!

Waited 50 minutes for our food, only to be served food missing major ingredients. Our mixed house salad did not have quinoa, broccoli, sugar-snap peas, slow-roasted tomatoes, peas, or pomegranate. It didn’t even come with dressing. Secondly, our tomato and basil pasta did not have slow-roasted tomatoes, sugar-snap peas, or rocket. Fortunately we got a complete refund. Worst dining experience ever. Never going here again.

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
