"We visited as a group of 6 adults and 6 children. The lady gave us a very warm welcome, offering to jig the tables around to accommodate us all. The children's menu is simple but perfect for children. The Carot and Lentil soup was amazing and my two girls polished it off and wanted more. I had the chicken, bacon and mayonnaise toastie, this was beautiful and full of flavour. Everyone in our party commented on how nice their food was. The lady who welcomed us gave us lots of information about activities in the local area. When you visit anywhere for the first time the big question is always, would you visit again? ... ....Well we did the very next day! Even the children asked to go back. Excellent tea room with attentive, friendly staff and 5 star food. Thank you"

This restaurant serves excellent coffee made by friendly staff. Additionally, there is a charming little garden in the back which is a great perk on a sunny day.

We liked this café so much that we visited it twice in two days. They offer a good variety of lunch options at affordable prices, and the staff is very friendly.

The scone was delicious, but the coffee was exceptional. It's rare to find such high-quality coffee in Scotland. The service was excellent, and the restaurant was very clean. View menu

The food at this restaurant is delicious, but the notices on the tables regarding minimum numbers and a surcharge for sauce are strange and not customer-friendly. Additionally, the restaurant does not accept credit cards.

I had a great experience at this cafe with its welcoming atmosphere and delicious food. It was the only cafe in Kirkcudbright that was accommodating to parents with children and their strollers. I particularly enjoyed the almond slice that I ordered.

Due to the great weather the garden was a delight to sit in, with the mural on the wall you really felt like you were abroad. Not just usual choice of coffee, but cafetiere and a hot milk with flavoured syrups. Hazelnut was very pleasant. The toilet was clean and tidy. View menu

This café has an odd welcome: there 's a rope asking you to 'wait to be seated ' right inside the doorway. This was okay for us two, but a family of five who came in after us were forced to leave the door open as they crammed into the small space odd... Anyway, our drinks were very good they had non dairy milk for my hot chocolate.

I recently discovered Solway Tide Tearooms in Kirkcudbright, and it has quickly become my go-to spot for a simple and delicious lunch. The food is straightforward but tasty, with my favorite being the toasted bagel with cream cheese and carrot soup combo. The service is always friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. When the weather is good, I love sitting in the back garden, which is also pet-friendly. I highly recommend this lovely little local restaurant for a satisfying meal.

"Myself and my partner where just outside of portpatrick yesterday and wondered about somewhere to have lunch, it was about 12.30pm on a scorching hot Bank holiday Sunday. We hadn’t actually planned to go there to start with but thought why not. I saw on Facebook Connors Restaurant had just uploaded a Facebook post about stopping there for a choice of 2 lovely menus and a cheeky gin, sounded perfect! The post had went up about 15 mins before we arrived, so I assumed they must be looking to take some tables. I walked down and there where 2 tables taken outside, and 1 table inside. I asked if I could get a table for 2 outside if possible and I was told no they had been reserved and I thought okay but before I could even open my mouth again she said all tables inside where also reserved that they where fully booked. There was 1 table inside, other wise it was pretty empty. Ok no problem, we found somewhere else so no big deal, after about 2 hours spent having food and wondering around we went back to the car (parked just up from Connors restaurant) and I noticed again there was only the 1 table outside, and no one at the others. I’m maybe wrong but I felt like this was odd, the inside didn’t look like it was “fully booked” either. It actually looked a little dead compared to everywhere else. This has also happened to my friends a couple of times too they’ve went in and the place has been stone dead but got turned away because of the excuse of being fully booked. Just felt like it was not quite right. Sorry I never usually write reviews but felt like I had to get my point across on this one. We would love to dine here and hopefully will in the future."
