Spice House - Menu

The only word to describe it is terrible. The pizza was burnt and the chips weren't cooked. The only positive thing I can say is that the delivery was on time.

This restaurant used to be the best in town, but it has significantly declined. The food is now terrible. Delivery takes over an hour, if you're lucky, and the food arrives lukewarm and soggy.

I have ordered several times. The food is very much the old-fashioned way the Indian's prepared food for the British. I wish they would prepare the food they would eat at home, not for the European palate. View menu

I am from India and honestly this was the worst indian food I have ever tried. We ordered chicken tikka masala which was nowhere close to its name. The main ingredients were sugar and coconut. We clearly did not need to order a dessert. The naan was very thick and tasteless. Tadka daal was just boiled lentil. Do not waste your money here.

I ordered this before 6 and it was supposed to arrive within 45 minutes and 2 hours later after my second phone call I discovered it had been left at the door 10 mins previously (CV19 times so so some leeway). The food was rubbish. No spice just mush. This is about the worst take away we’ve ever had. Not cheap. Honestly rubbish It was like baby food.

Where to start, delivery was super quick which wasnt a good sign. Freezing cold when i got it. Obviously no hot boxes or bags to transport the food. £5 for a portion of chicken pakora which im more than happy to pay, i know the price involved in the production of this kind of food. Well when. Say i was happy to pay, that was a mistake. 4 absolutely pointless pieces of bland chicken. No spices put plenty of food colouring. Mixed kebab was freezing cold. 10/10... We order at the spice house at least twice a month, for the 2 of us or for family/friend meet ups. Can say we’ve never had a bad meal, we’ve become creatures of habits always ordering the Dhansak and Korma. Both meals are full of ingredients and not drenched in oil. The Dhansak is full of spinach, lentils and the korma cause is spot on with the sweetness, it’s sauce has a creamy texture rather than oil and the almond and coconut have a strong influence on the taste. The chef makes the nans to order in the tandoori and it’s hard to fault... Spice House could be a restaurant and is better than some of the Indian restaurants around with the food they dish out to us...

Wow! It has been quite some time since curry was last on the menu at Spice House in Ballymoney, but I finally had the chance to try it and now I understand why there is so much hype! Normally, I would order a chicken pakora kebab on naan, but tonight's meal has completely changed my usual order. I started with the onion bhaji, which came with two large bhajis and a sauce - I absolutely love these, they are a classic takeaway essential. For my main course, I tried the butter chicken, which I had never tasted before but will definitely be ordering again! It was flavorful without being too spicy. I paired it with the cheese and garlic naan. The price for such a generous meal was very reasonable...

Ordered food via telephone and travelled from Portstewart to collect. The order was not what we had ordered but worse than that it was virtually inedible- £25 wasted! The chicken pakora were over cooked dried up and they came without a dip. The mixed meat kebab comprised only of doner meat and chicken pakora- there was no sauce, salad or anything else with it -disgusting! The biryani was tasteless , the sauce with it contained frozen vegetables and was bland. When I telephoned to complain, the girl who had taken my order initially was unhelpful, rude and a downright liar.
