"my wife and I decided to eat here today. I haven't been here for a few years, so I was excited to try the new menu. we pretended to book a table, we were told that there was a high-time celebration that was booked today, but they would be able to fit us without a problem! great start. we arrived and were shown our sitting, our beverage order was taken while we were browsing the menu. when we decided what we wanted to eat, the waitress came up with our drinks and took our food order. I had burger and chips and my wife had the vegetarian Thai court. my burger was delicious. the smokey taste of the specks just added something extra to the whole taste. the chips were tastefully seasoned with the right portion. I asked about pfeffersoße, and not only did it come with my food (in contrast to the half of the other restaurants I was) there were many of them. the sauce itself was smooth and creamy with the right amount of zing, I will definitely order this dish again. my wife really enjoyed her court, I tried myself and it was great. there was a lot nice and a nice amount of sauce that went perfectly in relation to the rice. for dessert we had the lemon cake with sorbet (very recommended) and the chocolate cake. both were fresh and delicious. overall we had a great culinary experience. the personal was all very friendly and helpful (also on a very busy day) the restaurant had a great atmosphere and eating was amazing, it deserves a 5-star rating. I recommend to them to give this place an attempt, they will not regret it."

Food selection good. Had an issue with cold main but issue resolved easy enough. Atmosphere good if a bit empty . Environment slightly dated but clean and homely. Would definitely recommend for families and lunch menu excellent.

we booked the car and were not disappointed. the appetizers were all delicious, so it is difficult to choose or have only a few of each: the carved for the main course also excellent with the usual well cooked sides, serving as large or small as they want. also gloomy very well. we will be back (with elastic pants and no belt next time. My first visit to The Stables will definitely not be my last. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with well-informed and attentive employees. The food is excellently presented, with generous portions that are bursting with flavor. The kitchen staff are truly talented. I highly recommend this hidden gem in Groomsport. (It's worth the trip)

I recently visited this restaurant for the first time since it reopened and I was impressed with the fabulous food. However, my second visit was not as good. The food was still nice, but perhaps it was just the menu choices that were lacking. The specials were particularly good, though the items from the standard menu were a bit like pub food but still tasty.

my man, two children, and I went to lunch today together with my friend and her two children. the personal is so friendly. the chef explained how it works and showed us all that they had to offer. the presentation and taste of the food were great. buttery maische, homemade crispy yorkshire pudding, bratereien. melt in the mouth sirloin of bark! we'll be back. I honestly can't give the stable a high enough review! we organized our little daughter birthday party here and wanted only a family meeting with sandwiches and cakes. of the get go mark (the owner) was a gent and nothing was a disturb. he was so fast to come back to me and he couldn't have been nicer. in the day it was sensational. fresh. tasty.... beautifully presented. the personal (especially mentioning to lesley the manager) could not have been more beautiful. they were so attentive and they could just not do enough to help. an absolute joy to treat with and nice eating! so, so cheap! defo come here for birthday, etc. trust me! we will not regret it!

I had heard that there was a change of property, so that the optimist in me hoped that there would be an improvement from my last visit years ago. the tired and tasteless facility in the entrance hall suggested that my optimism was missed. we were greeted by an enthusiastic...Host who presented menus and drinks offered. the menu was the same old and mostly fried. the eating and the drinks arrived quite fast, but trying to win the attention of a server to request salt, vinegar and sosse was impossible. the triple boiled chips were quite likely sold under and could have been well roasted times ... if I had had a burning desire for desert or coffee, I would have waited. there was the waiting ti...

"Tl;dr this chef and this team are on their way to a Michelin star, so get a reservation while you can. We visited here Saturday 29, where we enjoyed the tasting menu by current chef John Hollywood. Their tasting menu is averagely priced, comparable to Dublin’s Bastible, with 6 courses actual, and plenty of wine. Aside from the setup, nothing else is average. The staff at Boat House are second to none. The atmosphere is similar to Hof van Cleve, with chirpy, witty staff happily serving customers and following the mood of the table. Their sommelier and wine pairing is particularly special, with each bottle subverting the trend, unexpected, but without compromising on quality (see: Bastible cannot figure out wine). Their sommelier is a wine nerd who’s happy to go into as much depth as you want, but you feed off the passion between courses, which is a really great dynamic between the staff and the table this is rare, usually only achieved at top star restaurants. I’ve never found this in the island of Ireland. The food itself is the perfect mix of foraged from land and sea, each dish testing and surprising you, but with some classics mixed in (beef Barolo your reward for trusting the chef). On the whole, the menu seems designed to subvert comfort you in equal measure, and succeeds with every course. You won’t find the same level of experimentation from many of the Italian tasting menus on the circuit, but that comes with the assurances of consistent quality and a journey that’ll never let you down, where subversive wine pairings inject a level of exciting chaos without risking the food. Between the atmosphere, staff, and chemistry at the table in the kitchen, a trip to Boat House can be held in the same regard as some of the world’s top Michelin star restaurants. They’re on the way. They have the ingredients, whether you know it or not. Better start those birthday reservations now."
