"Visited this Bar/Restaurant on a very nice summer day. it felt like being on a beach in the Mediterranean somewhere not like a Northern European busy harbour town. Views of the river and the harbour are second to none and we were lucky to...have found a table for our party. It can get busy there at times, especially when the weather is nice. Food and drinks were excellent, I just wish they had a greater variety of drinks and cocktails. However the long drinks come in half pint measurements, which is nice... Food was basic, but very good and good portions and all at reasonable prices."

Best location on the Elbe. Right on the Elb Beach. Delicious food from a small map. Ideal to watch the ship and to simply enjoy the Elbe.

We stopped by for drinks, were very glad we did. The views of the beach the docks are great, and the service here is good too. You can get on the 62 ferry to visit here, and if you’re in town make sure...that you do. View menu

Great beach café with tasty dishes and very well-tempered beer, with a superb view and very dear and attentive services, so you can stay here for four hours! Thank you for the great experience and hopefully until soon!

the beach pearl on the elbstrand ovelgönne is an institution at the elbe and at warm days very well visited. the prices for snacks and drinks are sensational for the location and you can look at the passing ships on one of the numerous beach stands.

the location of the beach pearl is sensational. it is located directly on the beach at the elbe. Nevertheless, the prices relatiw are favorable and it has not become a chic micki lounge, but has remained grounded. outside are chairs, in which you can lie wonderfully and enjoy a cool drink with a view of the elbe and the feet in the sand. children are also busy by the beach and run between the chairs and do not have to sit on table and get bored View menu

the beach pearl? is there, belongs there and has too much abundance also elbstrand near. the whole thing with quite unbearable trips, more thoroughly mixed visitors and sometimes the sunshine in hamburg appears. then it's twice nice there. in itself, the load is nothing special but exactly that makes it also you do not try to be something special and can convince. in summer, of course, a nice thing when you go to the elbstrand and can provide a little there for both beach visitors and walkers on the elbwanderweg.

the “beach bead” has been put to me more often than an absolute secret tip. the very great enthusiasm did not want to stop, but I wonder what I had actually expected. the location is of course top, the charging itself is an average beach resort with normal service and average trips. in some other cities, the “perle” would have been insufficiently snuck with lounge style and completely overcrowded parlors in view of the situation. Here you can also take a pair with jeans, gymnastics and without a thick portrait and look at the elbe.

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
