"The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, with plenty of seating both inside and outside. The decor was modern and stylish, with a nod to the brewery's history. I tried a few different beers during my visit and was impressed with the quality and variety on offer. The prices were reasonable and the portions were generous. Overall, I had a great experience at Buxton Brewery's tap house and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to start their ale trail in Buxton."

"After craving eggs benedict The Little Larder definitely did not disappoint! The queue was expected after reading previous reviews however it went down very quick as customers were respectful and didn’t take up too much time after eating. I’d definitely say to anyone that it is worth waiting in line and to not let it put you off. We both ordered eggs Benedict and the presentation was super cool I love how it is given to you in a little box! The only thing is it made cutting very awkward. The coffee was great and the services were a lot quicker than expected hence why the queue is so quickly moved! I’d definitely go back again on my next trip."

"On first impressions, lovely place in the village, lovely rooms, very clean, comfy bed, the room I was in, lovely decor, this was booked by my workplace we thought breakfast was included within the price they paid, in the morning of leaving we ordered a full English breakfast which was £11.50, we also had a pot of tea, fresh orange juice toast, when we came to check out, my bill was £17.50, I have never stayed anywhere where I've had to pay extra for a cup of tea, it's normally included within your breakfast price, so please don't be fooled by these extra prices for a pot of tea, fresh orange juice toast, also no cereal available, which is unusual for an establishment not too offer, so this is the reason why I haven't given it 5 star rating, as I thought this was quite disappointing in my opinion, otherwise not a bad hotel, this was a work trip, I can't comment for the menu as we ate elsewhere on the evening, but I just wanted others to know before they maybe ordered the above items. Just giving my honest opinion of my overall stay."

"Stopped here for a coffee with my husband and cousin, whom we were visiting. The cheese scones were apparently very nice and I was impressed there were gluten free cake options and one gluten and dairy free option, a Bakewell cake, which was delicious. I also purchased an unusual picture, which was made from cut pebbles and cut glass....not something one sees in Kent very often. I'll definitely return in the summer when we're up."

"A Great British Pub but not a Great British Meal for 2 of us in a party of 4. To be fair the pub overall is nice and the beer good. But I was bitterly disappointed by the Fish and Chips. Advertised as small or large portions for £13.95 and £17.95 respectively the former should have been on the child’s menu it was so pathetically small. I rarely write negative reviews but this sort of offering gives Pub food a bad name. And to be honest the quality was only so so and in no way compensated for the price size. Other dishes on the menu have similar size options so just beware when you order. I was offered another choice to make up for it but once you’ve started and everyone has their meals I never like to ‘start again’."

"Popped in for a pub lunch with a good friend, I did call earlier and Elise the busy busy manager said no need to book and looked forward to seeing us. It was easy to find and it has an outside area and car park. We arrived to a busy pub serving food from hot beef sandwiches which looked fab to burritos and fish and chips .. good tasty pub fare. I plumped for a battered fish sandwich served with chunky chips and a salad my friend fish and chips all served fresh and yummy and all washed down with Timothy Taylor’s landlord beer: Puds we’re cheesecake homemade and ice cream all delicious. Special mention for the hard working friendly staff who made our visit even more enjoyable."

"Saturday evening, arrived 8.10 and bar staff advised we couldn't order food for an hour, despite the place being half empty. So we confirmed the kitchen was open until 9.30 before ordering a bottle of wine intending to order a meal later. Went back to bar to order food at 8.50 (getting hungry) only to be told the kitchen was closed?! I was fuming as we checked all this before ordering drinks. So too late to eat elsewhere either. This place used to be an amazing gastropub, but a local confirmed it had changed hands a few years ago.. it shows! Menu looked very basic pub food and lots of half full plates being returned to the kitchen whilst we waited our hour thinking we could order food."

"My family and I came to this restaurant for a birthday meal with 6 adults and 6 kids. The service was great and the food was delicious. We were happy with everything until one of us overheard staff in the bathroom saying they thought we would be annoying, but actually found us to be nice. However, there was some mess, caused by 2 kids under the age of 1, who each had a paid-for kids meal. This restaurant is our go-to spot for family birthdays, and we usually have no complaints. But today, we felt that the staff's comments were rude when they thought we had left, even though we had been nothing but polite. Our children were well-behaved and remained seated unless using the kids' toy machine or going to the bathroom. They did not run around the restaurant or cause any disruptions."

"We came To the royal as a family of three in the school holidays. All of us had an absolutely delicious meal. The loaded steak burger is outstanding. We ordered a sundae to hare as a pudding and all I can say is wow. All three of us dug in and it was still plenty. They have really got everything just right. The lady serving us could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Can’t wait to return"

"mackenzies is five stars in every sight: it is in a beautiful opposite of north yorkshire; it has plentiful, good parking; it has an excellent selection of shopping opportunities about fresh meat and vegetables, deli products and gift items. we had booked a table to breakfast and were met by a very friendly heart who showed us on a table in the winter garden. we chose both the full english that the simple but essential three boxes for me a good cooked breakfast, ie first-class ingredients, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. while the breakfast goes, this is as good as it gets, and as tasty it was considerable enough to eat much redundant later on the day. from cooking points, eating was perfect and the only suggestion that I could possibly make is that big tellers from the diners's look more practical, as I found it awkward to eat from the dishes they use, which, although a good size, were not quite enough for the big breakfast. service was in the whole class and the feeling to get it here is of a real desire to feel the customer special and it works!"

"We went to the restaurant for lunch to commemorate the anniversary of my father-in-law's passing two years ago. The restaurant was very busy, which is always a good sign, so we were happy that we had made a reservation in advance, especially during half term. However, the noise level was a bit high, making it difficult to hear our own conversation at times. We were seated at a nice table by the fire, which made the atmosphere cozy as we waited for our food. The menu was extensive and diverse, just like our previous visit for my mother-in-law's birthday. She ordered the seabass again and was not disappointed. Despite the generous portion size, she opted for a smaller dessert and complimentary hot drink, which added the perfect finishing touch to a memorable dining experience for her."

"Came here whilst on holiday in the area and me and my partner had the afternoon tea. There was a large car park at the side which made life easy as we came with our 3 dogs. Once inside we were given a friendly welcome by the staff there. We had cocktails with the lunch and staff member Ellie suggested a coconut cocktail and they were lovely! The dogs were also treated to a very nice dog treat which they thoroughly enjoyed. The afternoon tea had some lovely sandwiches and wraps and well as a nice selection of dessert items. If I could suggest anything, it is that they consider adding to the menu a savoury afternoon tea with sausage rolls, scotch eggs, halloumi fries ect... Overall great service with nice food and should I visit the area again I will certainly be returning here."

"We popped in for a quick drink. The Upper Deck gave us a fantastic view of the estuary. The staff were excellent at finding us a table with our dog at a very busy time. Will be back for sure. The prices were reasonable given the location."

"The quality of food is great and not only are the staff polite and helpful the waiting time for food is on point. I’d definitely recommend the windmill to my family and friends whenever they ask if theres a relaxed place and atmosphere to get a good munch! Parking: There’s available parking around the back of the building and there’s spaces out front too. Kid-friendliness: They have a claw machine and a kids menu. Wheelchair accessibility: There’s a side door that has an easy access ramp for people that are in a wheelchair."

"I visited this pub for the first time in a long while, and I was impressed by its charming setup and great selection of beers. The food was absolutely delicious! However, I did have one major concern: there is no wheelchair access. I was able to get help from the friendly bar staff, but I was frustrated to learn that a ramp had been proposed at the back of the property and was vetoed by the community due to the building being listed. It seems like a ridiculous obstacle. I do plan to return and hope that this issue can be addressed, as it’s frustrating that something so simple could improve accessibility."

"Having worked in 4 Indian restaurants in lowestoft. Some of the best and busiest in the area ...very disappointed!! . I've reheated many Indian meals with no problems this meal had a greasy film . The veg dishes tasted all the same. The takka Dall was missing. £165 order. Had to pay £5 delivery for a 3 minute drive up road. No extras ...in lowestoft would have been , free poppadoms and pickles..free onion bhajis , and the top of town Indian will give you free tikka or couple of main dishes chucked in for that price...I'm not looking for the freebies , but there was no going out of the way or going beyond from this restaurant...we ll be taking away from lowestoft when we visit family for an Indian next time...and it had to be cash ...well I hope you put my order through your books ..like I said I've worked in many Indian restaurants. Step your game up. Or get a new chef."

"I came here yesterday with my mum and brother and between us we ordered a carrot cake, decaf cappuccino, a pot of green tea, buttermilk chicken burger with fries, fish finger sandwich and salmon eggs royale. The cake was absolutely huge and extremely tasty and moist and at £5 is was worth the price tag I’ve paid the same for smaller slices. All the food was very generous in size and my “single” fish sandwich was enormous. My mum enjoyed her eggs royale and my brother his chicken though he said the batter was not seasoned at all which was a shame. The staff here were very friendly and we had a lovely few hours here. I would definitely come back for coffee and cake if in the area."
