We enjoyed this place as it was very old with a lot of history, very clean with large area outside and a large car park.

Fantastic experience! I suffer from a dairy allergy- the chef went through the menu personally and ticked off what I could and couldn't have, was such a personal touch. Food was excellent and service was fab.

Gorgeous atmosphere and delicious food!! Webcam for our anniversary and it was rammed but the service was still great!! They forgot my gnocchi but it came very quickly when we informed them!! Great beers as well!!

Called in with my wife on friends recommendationto get a steak sandwich , very very dissatisfied and disappointed asked for medium cooked steak it was served undercooked and bleeding sent it back just the same , unchanged still bleeding, paid an extra £5 for 8 chips,definitely won't recommend or go again

beautiful old pub with fascinating history, who would have thought that hull was a kind of shredded space for ships in the Spanish armada, some of the wooden from the white bears were used in 1595 in rebuilding the herberg. beautiful old wood trim and small rooms in the inner but large men's plan! you can beat the head! a decent menu, but no food had to be eaten so I can't comment.

Whilst the food was decent enough the actual portions for both starters and main meals were small. So much so that we were still hungry after the meal. The pate starter was unbelievable small !! One piece of brioche style bread to go with the pate!! But the biggest gripe was the cost. The food is ridiculously overpriced. There are much better places elsewhere. Avoid this place for food.

Under the heading of Elaine my wife Upon waiting for my meal order we had to experience a complaint from another dissatisfied customer. I can honestly say when previously ordering a steak at your premises it's never been bleeding onto my plate that's why I returned it to be cooked correctly , when it was returned to me it exactly the same untouched with the same sauce unmoved,. I feel I gave you chance to rectify the fault to which you failed and as witnessed by your waitress had to swap meal with my son who was having a burger who doesn't mind eating ****** steak which explains why all the plates were empty upon your collection. We arrived here on a very busy Sunday at around 4.30 pm and managed to get a parking space in the car park with a few spaces left. On entering the pub we only just got through the door to be met by a fair size queue of people either waiting for drinks or to be told which table they were to be sat at. As it was a very sunny day and the place has quite a large and very pleasant outside space for customers, we didn't mind too much about queuing to get a table as the warm sunny Sunday made it very busy.
