"beautiful, old fashion pub that serves food and is dog friendly. found this place on google, while at beacon fell to foot the dog, as we were looking for somewhere tee on a sunny Sunday afternoon afternoon. it was about 15 minutes away from beacon fell. we called and booked when we came to the pub, the table was finished with our name on it. the staff was nice and friendly, and very attentive and made it in the regular relaxing. eating was really good, both Sunday dinners and child food. good sizes and not too expensive. all local chattering and made a fuss of the dog. toilets and facilties were all very clean and tidy. I will go back and recommend it to others"

twice over the weekend, while we stayed in the village, was very impressed by the service and the choice of ales and beer. it is good to know that this village pub is still busy when on our Saturday afternoon visit it stood

A fabulous Boxing Day meal with our family group. Despite it being busy we ordered lunch and it didn’t take long before our food arrived. Every meal was well presented and delicious. Great service too. Would highly recommend. View menu

Just stopped off here for lunch- we had sandwiches with the most gorgeous home-made chips; no freezer chips here. The sandwiches were so fresh as was the side salad. All served my a most amiable young man. 10/10 do call in even it is just for the chips!

After a great walk up Parlick and Fairsnape we popped in for some drinks. The children had some lunch, great size portions £6.50 and lots of choice. Homemade cooked fresh food, all 8 children demolished their plates. Some friends ordered off the main menu and their food looked yum! Will definitely return and would totally recommend. View menu

A lovely historic pub set in the heart of Chipping village. Great selection of craft ales together with mainstream beers, wines and spirits. Food offerings were basic but very tasty during our visit but, in fairness, the pub staff are doing their absolute best to get back to 'normal ' following the pandemic. The Sun Inn has great potential and we look forward to visiting again soon. Certainly worth a visit.

on Sunday dinner (fatherday! at the spur of the moment. menu is interesting, more than most pubs. service was excellent. a woman chose the (rare roast beef sunday) and was very impressed (I noticed that it seemed a popular choice among other customers. I had an excellent sampi and (not so good chips. the chips were the only negatiw throughout the visit probably a question of taste, but a bit dry and tasteless for me. not a place to go cheap lunch, but overall very impressed full teller! and would certainly recommend to others. it was always full as we probably better to book when they consider a later lunch.
