"We ate here twice during our week-long stay in the area and we enjoyed both visits. The setting of this restaurant is just lovely; on an island on the River Cher. On the first visit, we said inside and on the second, we said outside on the terrace right next to the water. It was glorious in such hot weather. As our visits were on the same week, the menu was the same, so we could try out most of it. Their menu is not extensive and we ignored the pizzas, though we did like the look of them - nice thin crust with generous toppings. Judging by the expressions of the other customers, they tasted good, too.For starters, we had sampled Gaspacho (sic), Carpaccio of Melon with ham (melon ribbons with slices of Serrano Ham) and tomato salad with goat cheese. All lovely and refreshing. The Gaspacho was very good, not a true Spanish version, but absolutely delicious nonetheless. For main courses, We had steak frites and saucisse Montlouis - a special kind of sausage, like a Toulous sausage but with different seasonings. The sausage was very tasty. The steaks were decent; the second time was better, but not that exciting. The quality of the meat was good. For pudding, it was Strawberry with Cream. Delicious and just the right amount. The service was good, attentive and not snooty at all. This restaurant is busy, so booking is essential."

A lovely restaurant in the middle of the bridge. Varied menu, lovely home cooked food. Lovely views over the river to the chateau and church in St Aignan. Staff helpful and friendly.

Attended Sur Le Pont for my sister in laws birthday. This is a small but beautifully presented restaurant right next to the bridge in St Aignan. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was very nice indeed from a small menu. Overall a very relaxed but intimate atmosphere.

After visiting the newly-opened restaurant in the summer, we revisited to eat inside. Glad to say it's up to par. Well-appointed dining room, good seasonal menu, effective and friendly service. So it's a good place to go, even when you can't sit on the riverside and enjoy the view. Well done to all concerned.

Restaurant was closed when we wanted to book so we sent Email on the thursday for friday evening booking with telephone number if there was an issue. We turn up at the appointed hour, people, to be told that they had no booking. We...are then offered a table down steep steps despite the fact that my wife has a white stick and dark glasses (sight impairment). They then suggest she walks metres down the walkway and back along the river. Not possible we advise due to knee operation. Response was desole and shoed away. Rude, Rude, Rude!

The location is very nice, just near the Cher river. We booked a table and once seated we noticed that more people were coming without any booking but were served immediately..It first took a time that the waitress came to bring us the menu. People arrived after us already got their starter, even their main dish. And it has been like that during the whole dinner, people arriving after us got their plates very fast and us we were obliged to wait and wait. I was so tired to wait that we skipped the dessert and asked for the bill which came fast :)The starters were simple but good. I ordered a bavette which was like rubber. The pizza was excellent. We found the price a bit too high for the such ba...

This wonderfully positioned little bistro on the bridge of the River Cher is a little gem. We went there for lunch (starter, main, dessert for 16 euros or 2 dishes for 14 euros). Very friendly waiting staff and the food is extremely fresh and delicious. For the set menu we had a choice of carpaccio of trio of tomatoes or smoked salmon salad for starters, beautiful fillet of Merlu (fish) and gratin of fennel or home made tagliatelle with carbonara sauce followed by apple tart or chocolate mousse. This little place has had many attempts at being a wine bar, local produce shop over the years but the owners have put a great deal of effort into making this a cosy, attractive place to eat and in su...
