"Ah, Roma! I 'm seriously missing you right now. Taverna Barberini is one of the places my mind keeps reimagining as I think back on my trip. It 's the kind of restaurant that truly encapsulates the allurement of Rome, at least for me. The carefree hustle of the city around you, the warm invitation to come downstairs and immerse yourself in an intimate setting, classic Roman dishes made bright with simple ingredients and herbs. All lovely. Although we were tempted to wander downstairs into the warm light as if visiting an old friend, we opted to sit outside to enjoy the crisp autumn weather and the busy street side sights. There are only a few tables outside and quarters are super close on the sidewalk, but that 's part of the experience. I 'm comfortable in a tight spot if the environment around me is dynamic including exceptional cuisine, wine, and beloved company! My friend and I found Taverna Barberini on Yelp by searching gluten free and vegetarian. You 'd think we 'd have trouble finding legit food in Italy with our dietary needs/choices, but we had no bumps at all. So much great food and people who took our eating issues seriously. Taverna Barberini had an incredible array of choices! Almost everything could be made senza glutina, hallelujah. I wish I could remember the exact name of my dish, I apologize, but I 've included pictures of my plate! It was some kind of Roman pasta dish made with an incredible tomato sauce (I think with pieces of pork/lardons), super thick gluten free spaghetti noodles, and red pepper, all sprinkled with grated parmesan. It was outstanding. The flavor of the sauce was so rich, like it 'd been simmering for days. The spice was perfection and the noodles cooked a splendid al dente. Really an amazing dish. As in most of the places I ate in Rome and Florence, the service wasn 't quite as attentive as I 'm used to, and I loooove it. No one is rushing you in and then out of their restaurant. It 's a much more relaxed vibe, you know? Eat and enjoy. Take the time to soak in your environment, your company, your food and drink. I really don 't understand people who rush through meals, but for me, eating is always the main event!"

Our experience with Hotel Barberini was terrible. They double booked our room that we booked a year in advance. The place itself was nowhere near the 4-star hotels we stayed in throughout Europe. Beyond that, the service at the restaurant was beyond poor. The only reason we went was because of the discount they offered due to the room issue. While people walked out due to the poor service.

Came here as a last minute option and was extremely surprised pleased. A place that clearly knows how to cater to tourists but doesn't make you feel as such. Alessandro was our server and he was amazing. Great recommendations and just a fun spirit that makes you want to make it a point to come back. Food was outstanding and it made our night. Highly recommended and ask for Alessandro if you want a great time dining.

The worst place in Rome.... we found it. We ordered the meat and cheese plate and got bowls of pumpkin, beans, lamb heart and onions. The gluten free bread was not like people are saying, mine was in plastic bag packaging and microwaved way too long so it turned to stone. We left before dinner. There wasn't a soul in the restaurant so it was a spooky vibe... guess we should have taken the hint with that! Do. Not. Go. Here.

A charming place to dine. I found this place after my visit to Palazzo Barberini. I hesitated since it was so close to a tourist attraction wondering how their food would be. It was excellent. I ordered the antipasti and it was sublime. The grilled eggplant was the best I 've ever had. The proprietor told me olive oil, vinegar garlic. Simple is often the best. Oh, she was so right. I didn 't save room for dessert but the one I saw looked great. I 'll be back.

came here for lunch. four stars mostly because the service is so accommodating and the location is great, about halfway between Piazza Barbarini and Trevi Fountain the menu is extensive and we were having trouble deciding and the waiter asked what were in the mood for so we said calamari. and he asked how we wanted it prepared. whatever we wanted they would make and they did. also ordered pasta with fresh tomatoes and bacon. everything was great. they have a huge antipasto salad bar too. would love to come back and try other dishes

Simple, local, fresh. Nothing fussy, and the food is amazing. I had the home made noodles with fresh grated truffle. (It's a seasonal dish a steal for €22. To. Die. For. So simple, so easy to screw up...but perfect. I wish I was in town longer so I could eat here again. I do want to clarify that though many of their dishes are vegetarian and/or gluten free, there is meat and fish on the menu. Perfect for a mixed group something for everyone! The home made tiramisu was amazing; my boyfriend had a SECOND helping. Complimentary limoncello, amaretto, or grappa after the meal. Really feels like an Italian grandma invited you in for dinner.

Most of the reviews on this place sounded great and it was super close to our hotel so we decided to try it. But I would not eat here again. My sister got the Fettuccine a la romana pasta which said no where on the menu that it had tuna in it but sure enough had nasty, un fresh tasting tuna in the meat sauce. It wasn't edible because the taste over powered everything. They also put chunks of tuna in their lasagna, again without putting it on the menu. Service was slow but decent and they tally up the check themselves with a calculator. It's a sweet mom and pop type of restaurant but the food was no where near as great as the other reviews made it sound. I would go elsewhere unless this is yo...

Couldn't have been better. Started with the traditional Roman antipasti selection which was unbelievable and very authentic. The house Red was wonderful and they have tap water which is a big bonus for me. Our favorites from the antipasti were the boiled cabbage, grilled eggplant, baked tomatoes and spicy salami with black olives. I'm a bit of a picky eater and even I thought the various lamb organs were delicious! The entrees were incredible as well ox tail in tomato sauce, saltimbocca and buccatini in red sauce. We couldn't decide what we loved best! Finally, the desserts: tiramisu, orange and chocolate crepe and my favorite, profiteroles. Not to mention the whole wait staff was so friendl...

This was unfortunately the worst experience we have ever had at a hotel in our many years of travel. I have never left one negative review until we stayed at this hotel last month. Not only did they lie about a fire that happened in our room (when really they just double booked or wanted a better rate since it was during the Ryder Cup), but they told us to go stay in a hotel nearby even though we had made these reservations a year in advance. Once our travel agent and WhatsApp got them on the phone the next day they acme back and said that somehow there was not a fire after all and our room was ready later in our stay as legal action was threatened. We were forced out of a reservation we had...
