"If I hadn't read Orcagna's good judgment about the diogenes, we would never have landed here. The many Ouzos on 's house certainly owes them to their sparkling charm and that the restaurant is within its scope, about which it can be lucky to get a parking place (without being a resident) is very difficult. The welcome through the host is friendly, the table in front of the counter is still not wanted. So we can take the small Separee right behind the entrance. The restaurant is well heated and cuddly warm. A terrible Kitschdeko at which nothing fits is distributed in the entire restaurant and looks like combined flea market articles. A cigarette machine is standing behind us on the ground, on it a pasture basket with wild colored artificial flowers set together. Artificial grapes with wine leaves are hung in the fishnet on the ceiling. Since it is just after Christmas, this decoration also comes to it. To this is all: the chair cushions are so thoroughly held that you can already feel the wood underneath, the tiles or the color was up-to-date in the 80s and were once moved by a professional. I've never seen such a badly tied floor, he was dirty and hasn't been chased for a while. The tables are clean and covered with paper tablecloths in the red-green-karted Christmas star design. Colorlessly inappropriate the paper napkins with blue imprint I learn Greek . Of which larger portions are served here, I have already been reported and I am very grateful for that. What is tabled quantitatively as an appetizer plate would run at me under the main course portion and so we have eaten together a plate directed for a person. Both we are a big fan of the meze plates that was described as tempting: selection from our cold and warm appetizers with a few surprises per person 10 euros. We were very pleasantly surprised about the diversity with 1 fried shrimp, which was pleasantly also devastated, a piece of panned zucchini, 4 fried anchovies, 2 pieces of tinted fish, panned and fried fig, pressed shrimp meat, a piece of long green grilled paprika, tomatoes, tsatziki and Taramas. The composition has been very good for us, very well tasted and we were very satisfied. It would have been nice if we had found the black olives that were announced and that they were blackened, but they were not on the plate. (Oton of the host: They are never on an appetizer). If we still want some, r would like to bring some. We didn't want to see the Mezeplatte eaten. For this we plastered fresh peasant bread cut into thick slices. I liked the small menu. A beautiful selection of appetizers, soups, fish dishes and meat dishes. For me, there is no need for 15 meat dishes consisting of dry gyros, fat chopsticks or meat skewers and already spoil the appetite with their imagination names like Saloniki, Crete or Poseidon plates. And finally, a Greek, which includes all the carving variations rust roasting can be dispensed with. This first surprise has succeeded and it is not difficult for us to decide for a second. We take the fish plate from everything, a generous portion, the speciality of the cook, let you surprise (20 euros). Again very diverse and tasty with a filled (tomato and onion) whole Dorade, squid, 2 fried shrimps, fried anchovies, an undefinable smaller fish, fresh tomato slices and onion. The fresh Dorade was perfectly fried and a smaller version of the octopus were delicate. The anchovies were no longer quite as crispy as those of the appetizer, and I would like to have eaten such a portion again from the long, sliced and grilled zucchini. With their slightly oily appearances they were wonderfully prepared. The supplemental salad was mainly small-sized greens and made me much too sour. We have read that two supplements are optionally served for all fish specialities, but the order did not ask. With the supplement we did not want to be surprised and ordered the wild potatoes. Whether the second supplement was the grilled zucchini or if it had been rice, I cannot say. The wild potatoes did not come first, but were forgotten, and only on request was the potato slice delivered. The diogenesis is something special and not comparable to the other Hellas pads. It is beneficial to know that the host is in the kitchen with a lot of heart blood and enchants such surprises. Anyone who places value on large portions and a suitable price performance ratio will also be satisfied here. Although we were only supplied with the very well cooled Ouzo, a demand for a second (and certainly free) would have been successful. I don't know how many years ago I've been serving that chilled in a restaurant for the last time. It was like that again. The more often cheerful host is very (gast)-friendly."

I love Greek food, and for me this is the best Greek restaurant I ever been at (Mind that this is the one at Silberburgstrasse, as there are 2 more Greek restaurants in Stuttgart with the same name).Familiar and Mediterranean atmosphere, where you can eat traditional food, made by the cook/owner Maria and served by her husband Dimitri. Both are extremely friendly, kind and make you feel at home. The quality of the ingredients is unbelievably good and fresh. I definitely recommend it as a must-go-to in Stuttgart.

Unfortunately, diogenes tavern is the first time that tripadvisor has traveled to me for the first time. based on the other reviews I expected that I found a hidden gem. Instead I found a non-descript restaurant that was almost abandoned on a Thursday night at pm. that would have. my first note. I ordered the diogenes grill plate, and the meat was fat and lacked much in taste. the owner seemed to go through the movements. he wasn't exactly gruff, but he wasn't really friendly either. I went out as if I had eaten a darmbombe (and I mean in English meaning, not German). on the positive side the salat was good and the owner was very generous with the weeping. the price was also appropriate. Sadly, Diogenes Tavern is the first time TripAdvisor has led me astray. Based on the other reviews, I expected to find a hidden gem. Instead, I found a nondescript restaurant that was nearly deserted at 7 PM on a Thursday evening. That should have been my first clue. I ordered the Diogenes Grillplatte, and the meat was fatty and lacked much in the way of taste. The owner seemed to be going through the motions. He wasn't exactly gruff, but he wasn't really friendly either. I walked out feeling like I had eaten a "gut bomb" (and I mean "gut" in the English meaning, not the German). On the positive side, the salad was good and the owner was very generous with the wine pours. The price was also...

"Wow. Simply Awesome! Best dining experience my wife and I have had in several years, probably top all time, and we are real foodie snobs. They squeezed us in with only a couple hours notice. We got the course menu paired with wine....Little did we know that six courses in metric means First came the amouse bouse, a frothy chicken soup plus a croquette topped with dried mushrooms. Paired with wine of course. Then came a home made freshly baked baguette that was crazy delicious served with a dish of sour cream and chives as well as butter with pumpkin seeds. The bread was so good it could have been its own course, and the sour cream was the first of many unusual com I nations, but it worked. Next was a salad a combination of beet root, cabbage, Thai coconut milk and lemon grass. I hate beets and I loved this dish. Next wa the first actual course, duck liver pate and brioche with figs and wine sauce. Amazing! Now how about some slow cooked trout (which strongly resembled salmon) with tangerines and celery root. Then some white cod with Jerusalem artichokes and hazel nuts. Then, to cleanse the palate a glass of deer broth served in a glass like a brandy snifter. We're only halfway through. Now it's a slab of deer meat cooked like a tender steak, served with a cannelloni stuffed with deer and all set over mashed parsley root that could have passed as mashed potatoes. All garnished with an amazing deer gravy/sauce. Next comes some mont d'or cheese served with house made fruit bread, oranges, and rutabaga. Crazy com o but it was delicious. Now for dessert courses. Red wine sorbet. Think you're done? Next comes white chocolate ice cream serve with quince (purée, cubes, and foam) served with a chestnut parfait. Now we're stuffed, but time for another dessert: creme brulee paired with a chocolate brownie and a serving of mango mousse. Crazy good."
