"It is sad that i feel compelled to write a bad review. I've been eating at this restaurant since 2008 but recently on two separate visits i was dissapointed. The food is generally great but the service was appalling. First visit was lunch, had to ask three times for the tea i ordered. The waitress, seems like family, was yoo busy on her phone. This was lunch and the place eas not busy. She just sat behind bar ingoring us. 2nd visit, also lunch, very quiet, sat at a tablen same ignoring waitress. Suddenly she stepped out of the restaurant with a family friend with a small child. We waited and waited. Finally some staff came out of kitchen. I signalled i was ready to order. Waited Waited Ignore Ignore Finally we got up and left after 15 minutes waiting for waitress to return. This same waitress served me before at their 2nd location across street. Frankly if she was not family ahe should be fired. Plenty of good Viet restaurants on Kingsland road. Not returning"

I’ve been coming here for at least 15 years and the food is consistently great. Well done guys! Already looking forward to my next visit.

Got food for 2 to go here just before closing. The food was absolutely delicious, really fresh and very generous portions. Staff were very nice even though we were so late to order. Definitely reccomend.

The next best thing since we are unable to travel to Vietnam. Tasty authentic Vietnamese food. We had a selection of summer and spring rolls, salt and pepper squid and some Singapore beef satay noodles. Delicious, brilliant service. View menu

Pleasant atmosphere and service, but very disappointing food. The steamed rice rolls had tiny shrimps rather than prawns, the deep fried fish was bland and expensive for what it was. The Singapore noodles were just horrible. There are much better eating options nearby.

Wanted a Vietnamese meal,so many to choose from around this area but picked the one that had local families in. Our waitress was attentive and served us a great papaya salad with tofu and noodle dishes with lovely prawn toast and seaweed. For three of us,with drinks it was £47. Really reasonable for London.

Not sure how people are giving this place a bad review. You get amazing, authentic and delicious food here. It's BYOB (cossie livs) and is so well priced. The staff are warm and friendly it's can get busy so can understand if they're not the most present. But the food more than makes up for it. Fancy fine dining it's not, but endless tasty dishes it is! View menu

Never ever have I experienced waitress so rude. She slammed our glasses down, shouted at us for moving tables even though we asked and then proceeded to give us a dry, stale plate of seaweed almost seconds after we had ordered it which was clearly been sitting in the kitchen for ages. The waitress was so rude that we decided to walk out. Never going back. Learn how to treat your customers honey.

This was my worst eating experience in London. The food was tasteless, drowned in a mysterious brown jelly like sauce, rice noodles were sticky. The staff were rude, we weren't told they would only accept cash payments on arrival and they didn't apologise about it when presenting the bill. They told us to go to the ATM machine and leave our belongings there, so as to make sure we'd be back. No receipt. Horrible experience through no fault of our own. We could not be paid to go back.

"A friend and I stumbled on to this neighbourhood restaurant by chance; no research, no booking, no expectations. We were then blown away by the quality of the food: wonderfully fresh fish, beautifully cooked. The service is also exemplary. I've always enjoyed calamari, but this was by far the best I've ever had: truly succulent and juicy. The mussels were almost as good, and the sea bream kept up the standard. The spiced quince with ice cream made a nice change from baclava in a Turkish restaurant (they still threw in some baclava). The owner, Tony, provides excellent recommendations — make sure you take them! He knows what's fresh that morning, and how his wife cooks it. The bill comes hand-written, and Tony forgot to include the wine (obviously I corrected him). I can't remember the last time a restaurant bill made a mistake in the customers' favour! No service charge is included, and it deserves a lot more than the usual 12.5%. This is a wonderful, old-fashioned restaurant, run by a charming old couple, committed to maintaining old-fashioned standards. The food is more than great and the prices more than reasonable. Service is personal, honest and responsive (providing Tony turns his hearing aid on). Tony warns you if anything you wanted was bought in, rather than home-made. Why don't unassuming but wonderful restaurants like this get Michelin stars?"
