"here for dinner on a Saturday evening with family and friends. this was my first time after about 3-4 years, when we were regular, came to thai emerald, so I was very interested in seeing how the restaurant had changed. we came and waited for someone who welcomed us and showed us our table, but nobody seemed to come. as a result we went to the bar and asked a waiter who pointed us on our table. for starters we ordered the mixed starters for 4 people who were good but nothing wore. the tempura garnelen were the best part of it, but in all honesty, eating was average. for the net we ordered a ran free of directed to share, including a green chicken curry, a red garn curry and some tamarinden escape that all relatiw good, but again, there was room for improvement. Generally, the service was friendly, but incredibly slow I understand that it is a Saturday night, but it took age to get the waiter and take our order, and the drinks came after some of our beginners. after finishing the meal, we asked about the bill, but again this took a long time, this was quite disappointing. everything in all that is eating well, but unfortunately I don't think that thai emerald is as good as it was earlier, but the whole experience was left off by the service. the waiters and waiters were friendly and nice, but incredibly slow and that combined with decent eating is the reason for my 3 star rating. I would recommend thai emerald, but I think there are better Thai restaurants in cheltenham like bangkok kitchen."

Brilliant service and outstanding food. The venue is also great for a special occasion as it is different but a lovely place to visit.

I saw this one on the Internet and thought it was worth a try. Wow, I'm glad that I've booked because it got very busy! I went for beef Penang and was delighted to see it was delicious!

family birthday dinner. nice eating and service was good. it was really very busy and we were glad that we were on a table in the raised opposite, which felt less cramped. but we were there on a Saturday night, so expected. there were four adults in our group.

I haven’t been to Thai Emerald for a few years, probably not since before Covid hit. I’d forgotten what a fantastic restaurant this is. The flavours, the artistry, the design of the place and it’s lovely authentic Thai food not to mention the lovely people running it and it’s a great local business..

The place is beautiful and the food was nice (although we’ve had better Thai meals). But the experience was spoilt by the extremely rude waiter. I don’t know what his problem was but he slammed the plates down and appeared to be in a very bad mood. We didn’t make a fuss as it was my sons birthday but he kind of spoilt the evening for us. The lady waitress and young lad were very nice and polite but our main waiter (an older guy) was so rude it was like something from Faulty Towers. Won’t be returning any time soon. Shame.

shows the best Thai restaurant in cheltenham. I have the feeling that my parents like to visit us in cheltenham, from the only reason that we go in the rule here when they visit the staff is super friendly and attentive and we never had to wait long for courts. then, when the food comes, it is always mouth-watering delicious and always comes in generous portions! the curries are amazing (can not go wrong with Thai green) and the pad thai is also unbeatable. when they are in a group, it is worth getting the Sharing Plate starter to feed a mixture of and try something new.

"The story: Two weeks prior, peeking through the restaurant window, I was intrigued to see the kitchen artizans hard at work creating sushi platters that looked vibrant but also elegant. On the 14th November at lunchtime, I was looking forward to trying Kibou as Japanese cuisine is one of my favourites. It's very hard to see the same level of unique variety that Kibou has compared to the few Japanese restaurants I am local to. We wanted to try an array of items and the mini seasonal menu had just been released in time for our visit as well. The food: The Jo Moriawase and New Style Sashimi were great introductions to the first impressions of the quality and range of the dishes available as they were the assortment dishes. Our server provided us with guidance on what we should try first on the Jo Moriawase in order to prevent ending up with eating soggy nori which we appreciated. The Black Cod Nigiri is nothing I have ever tried before so this was also an interesting experience for our tastebuds. My dad has a tough palate to appease but to my surprise, he was satisfied with the Spider Roll Temaki and Chashu Ramen (he thought the pork broth could have been less strong but nonetheless still enjoyed, not like the artificial flavourings you get in an instant ramen if you know what I mean). The Chirashizushi was great for me as I love my sashimi. I didn't realise the yellow portions were actually tamago/egg roll until I tasted it. Some sort of gastronomical wizardry? My mum really lavished the Yaki Udon textures, with the udon noodles having the right amount of nudge needed to chew and biting into the nice crispy outer layer of the tofu. My only regret is not having enough room to try the desserts. Overall, a unique adventure for the tastebuds! The price: If you are extremely budget conscious, perhaps I would not be able to recommend Kibou to you. For a family of three, we were about £40-50 per person. As of my visit, the service charge is 10%. Don't get me wrong though, I think the service charge is fair and reasonable because our experience with the staff we talked to and came by our table were lovely. The atmosphere: Family-friendly but also evening bar feel. Sakura Cherry Blossom and other Japanese-related art themes run throughout the restaurant. The service: We didn't have to wait very long to be seated or served. The waiting staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The kitchen staff did an amazing job with the food. Would I come again?: Yes, as a treat! Plus I want to try the dessert next time! :"
